Lana Del Rey

The "Honeymoon" album is stunning. Truly STUNNING. It's absolutely fantastic...hypnotic, mesmerizing. Lana has this incredible power of creating music that feels like it has always existed.

So many stand out songs..."24" should be a Bond theme song (if she doesn't sing the upcoming Bond theme.....someone should be ashamed of themselves), "Swan Song" is gorgeous, "Salvatore" is so bizarre, charming and delightful, and "The Blackest Day" is so intense and stirring and gorgeous and crushing...absolutely chilling. Probably one of my favorite Lana songs of all time. Definitely the stand-out track of the album..the stand-out of an album full of masterpieces. An unbelievable track.

Bravo, Lana! This album only furthers her status as a singer and artist so in a league of their own. She is incredible.

Great album. Hypnotic defines it perfectly. I don't think it's better than Paradise or Ultraviolence because both of them are fantastic, and Video Games for me is an eternal classic, but Honeymoon is surely not a step back either. It's nice to see her evolving inside her own world, never trying too hard to be more than she is, and being great at what she is. I'm still listening to it and each song is still growing more and more on me, but I agree that Blackest Day is one of the highlights, as well as the title track. I've been addicted to Music To Watch Boys To since she released it, and 24 is SO deliciously James Bond! It really feels like it was written and composed for a Bond movie! (ughhh Sam Smith...:judge:)

And just like I've got addicted to Money Power Glory only recently, I might also "discover" in the future something more in a song from Honeymoon that hasn't amazed me yet. I love this, about all her albuns - the songs remain interesting and get more interesting as time passes.

This album is so f****** awesome!!! Music To Watch Boys To is probably my favorite song since it was released. I don't know what it is about that song but I can not stop listening to it. I love Freak, Art Deco, Religion, Salvatore and Swan Song is amazing. 24 would be perfect for a James Bond film but sadly Sam Smith got the theme song this time. I'm so in love with this album

i have to say i'm addicted to "music to watch boys to". i don't know what it is but it's like the song eats me alive. every single time.
so excited to see the video for it. kinga burza shot it so that will be interesting. for reference, she also shot katy perry's " i kissed a girl" video ;)

i know i'm repeating what everybody else is saying but "honeymoon" is a masterpiece. i'm in love. favourites so far: "art deco" (it reminds me so much of "born to die" because of the "why" in it) / "terrence loves you" / "religion" is amazing!!! / and "swan song"
overall it's a perfect concept album like lana always excels in :)

lana del rey is working on a short film
inspired by elizabeth taylor

by: sydney gore — October 23 2015

As we stated before, Lana Del Rey had a lot to talk about in her most recent cover story for Billboard. Apparently, she's had a lot of free time on her hands, but instead of going on a vacation like we probably would, the singer-songwriter has been dabbling in the art of film. "I’ve been thinking it might be time to do a longer video, a 40-minute video," she said. "I was watching The Sandpiper, and I was working on something kind of based on that." Starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, the original 1965 film follows the story of a single mom and her affair with the married headmaster of the school that her son attends.

Del Rey also hinted at a potential collaboration with actor and director James Franco, who has worked on projects with her in the past, like the Flip-Side: Real and Imaginary Conversations With Lana Del Rey book and that interview for her V Magazine cover.

"James Franco asked me to be in three films that were going to be directed by a Spanish director, and I was hesitant," she said. "I think he heard my hesitance and got scared. Someone wanted me to be Sharon Tate. I thought, 'That’s so right.' At that time, there were three Manson movies being talked about, but none were ever made. So maybe that was the answer."

There aren't any confirmed details about the short film yet, but we have a feeling that it will all be unveiled in time.

I think she would look great doing a short film but I can't imagine her playing Sharon Tate.
