are they for sale, or just show?

"Alber Elbaz also sees a highly artistic facet on them and therefore he decided to produce in collaboration with Taiwanese craftsman Franz 800 limited edition dolls. Each of them has been had-painted and will be sold in the usual Lanvin packages. For seasons to come, the designer and Franz will produce six new dolls featuring Elbaz’s creations. They will retail for $345 each and will be sold at Lanvin boutiques and other selected retailers."

I really like this concept, but the clothes should have been made out of real fabric, instead of making it ceramic.

maybe symetrie is right...perhaps the clothes should have been fabric?..

i dont know...something just looks 'off' to me....:ermm:

When I first saw this thread title I thought "uggh, I do not understand grown women wanting dolls at all ." But then I opened the thread and saw the pictures...

and now I'd love to have one, they're cool

exactly, they're whimsical, it would make me smile to see one of these on my desk I think. too bad there is no way I'm shelling out the money ^_^

the representations of the dresses are nice, but the dolls themselves aren't very cute....

I like how the dolls' faces are missing eyes & lips..Kinda creepy, but a good kind of creepy..

ooooo i saw these in grazia magazine last week. I think its a pretty cute idea and i agree with eugenius i like how the eyes and mouth are missing :)

They're cute and great posterdolls for Lanvin, but for that money I'd rather buy some of their flats or an old season dress off eBay.

they are quite cute, almost remind me of 3 dimensional fashion sketches, i love the one with the bob and sunglasses
