Lanvin F/W 06.07 by Steven Meisel

^ Lanvin.com has no info on the ads, which is odd because they usually list the photographers when they update the campaigns and collections.

I really want to know who the photographer is.

I actually believe it's one of the worst campaigns of the season. With a collection that was inspired by theatrics I was expecting something creative. I must admit that Stella looks good in her shot.

Well, it seems i's Steven Meisel? Although this source spells his name wrong, which seems pretty crazy.

Elbaz was in town to shoot the new Lanvin campaign in a studio with Stephen Meisel. The intimate, couture-like presentation was literally thrown together just a few days before. “I invited some women that I know and some women that I want to know,” he told The Daily. “I thought it would be an interesting thing to show the work and also to explain. Stories and words are part of my vocabulary. I wanted to make people part of my thinking. That is what interests me today in fashion: to think, to design, to dream and to laugh and have fun. I wanted to share it with the people here.” Elbaz also raved about Los Angeles. “The architecture and nature is great but what touched me the most is the people. I’m in love with this place because of the people. I feel very comfortable here.”

I assumed it was Meisel because he's been doing the Lanvin campaign for quite a few seasons now, but it's so unlike any of his work that I've seen.

It reminds me a bit of his early/mid 90s work at Italian Vogue. Although the focus is so soft here, which I don't associate with him. But he's everchanging.

the dresses are great!
the pictures reminded me of those misshapes photos
even though it looks offbeat and all..it looks pulled together..which is important i think in a campaign
there are no unnessary nimbs here and there..so i think it works
might be too offbeat for some people though

I really like them, I don't think they are classics or anything but I enjoy seeing them.

So, the campaign is up at Lebook.com and the girl in the green dress is in fact Amber Valetta.

i love these ads too.

but i loved them more when i thought some of the gals were drag queens.

It's very Jem and the holograms...no? The big hair and electric make-up
jem.jpg

I googled the picture from photobucket

what magazines did these ads appear in?
i want to put them on my wall, and i'm missing 2...

^ Vogue and Bazaar I believe ... maybe more ... I take those plus Lucky, InStyle, Elle, and seems like they were "everywhere" for awhile ...

^^ Two of them (Amber and Malgosia) are in the September Harper's Bazaar US, and four more (Missy, Stella, Amber again, and Amanda) are in September Vogue US. I think Natasa V's was in the August Vogue. ^_^
