I don't agree with this sentiment one bit. You can dislike his work, you can call it unoriginal and inappropriate for Lanvin but objectively this is a well-designed and fully developed collection with impeccable finishing and a great fit, which are things that can only be achieved through hard work. I'm sorry but you can't call him lazy when at least 70% of designers these days are churning out MGC-at-Dior-level basics that pay no attention to detail or fit and are more interested in social media and marketing than actually spending time in a studio.

I call him lazy because he copies from a 60s-70s obscure brand. I call him lazy because he is transporting the same boho style he made at Loewe to Lanvin.

The impeccable finishing and a great fit is the least you can expect at this price point. It is not a merit, it´s an obligation when there are four digits on the price tag. There is already a team of modelists and pattern makers who are in charge of that.

But he was hired to actually design. And from a design point of view, this is lazy. Yes, Chiuri is worse, I agree with you...but that doesn´t make Bruno better.

I like it and I dont really care about almost nothing because this have at least a bit o energy. While for other brands the past 2 years were fast, furious and with a lot of success, Lanvin lost a lot of time, prestige and name with all the mess that happened. I love this house Im glad that now Im seeing that there is a chance.

I am going to eat my words right now because what seemed like great clothes on the runway to me has translated to very cheap looking product in stores as far as menswear is concerned.

I thought I'd be really into the twisted seam pants but it turns out that most of the fabrics used for them are too flimsy to hold the intended shape and the longer part of the hem is loopy; the only ones whose shape seems to hold well are the brown pants with the black piping, but they actually had a fold right in the middle as if they are regular pleated pants which defeats the purpose of the twisted seam! The jackets are just okay and don't seem particularly warm or inviting; the silk cardigan - while interesting in theory - is literally weighted down by the heavy ribbing and it creases in a cheap way; the sneakers all look unattractive to me, even the basic ones where the leather used for the L logo is stiffer than the one used for the rest of the sneaker and that creates such unfortunate folds on the sides. All in all, pretty disappointed.

I’ve seen some of the stuff in stores and indeed, it’s not exceptional in terms of quality. It’s decent but the prices are so insane that you would expect more.
Alber was really the one who had high standard of quality at Lanvin.

I wouldn’t pay the price asked for current Lanvin. I wonder who will...
It’s a pity because the womenswear is interesting.
