I don't agree with this sentiment one bit. You can dislike his work, you can call it unoriginal and inappropriate for Lanvin but objectively this is a well-designed and fully developed collection with impeccable finishing and a great fit, which are things that can only be achieved through hard work. I'm sorry but you can't call him lazy when at least 70% of designers these days are churning out MGC-at-Dior-level basics that pay no attention to detail or fit and are more interested in social media and marketing than actually spending time in a studio.
I call him lazy because he copies from a 60s-70s obscure brand. I call him lazy because he is transporting the same boho style he made at Loewe to Lanvin.
The impeccable finishing and a great fit is the least you can expect at this price point. It is not a merit, it´s an obligation when there are four digits on the price tag. There is already a team of modelists and pattern makers who are in charge of that.
But he was hired to actually design. And from a design point of view, this is lazy. Yes, Chiuri is worse, I agree with you...but that doesn´t make Bruno better.
