Taitai, here is an auction for a fake Lanvin jet Set bag. The studs are all gold colored. Item number: 6808875739

Vintage, that is just...ugly :yuk:

The body doesn't even look like leather, looks like it's pleather.

The Monaco SAs have given conflicting info - the manager said it was just for spring/summer season but the SA said they might bring it in again next year. The SA at Barneys in NY Liliana kind of gave conficting info too.

I think Alber Elbaz was a few steps ahead of everyone with the gold studs which most brands only hyped up for the F/W 2005 collection.

I am seriously loving this bag. I usually switch bags every few days or so but have used this every day. It's funky cool and can go from day to night, weekday to weekend. And it's nice that it's not a common design because here you it's easy to see paddingtons, spys, hermes, chanel everywhere.

.

by mere chance, i was actually able to snatch one up the other day from a very reliable seller through ebay with whom i've purchased before...really looking forward to seeing in irl. i agree with you, it really does strike me as a bag that can match almost any style and would give the most simplest outfit a funky edge:smile:

i was kinda hoping they don't bring it back, just because it's nice to have something different that isn't easily accessible. imo, if they were to mass produce this particular style, it would really get played out and thus become a "trendy" bag.

sorry if you answered this already, but are the studs matte? i had bought a be&d and sold immediately, because their studs were SOOOO gold.

Eclectic, congrats on your purchase! Let us know how it goes!

Most of the studs are matte. A few have a little more "shine" than others, but it's burnished gold not YELLOW gold (does that make sense). Some of the studs are pretty "burnt" looking.

I don't think Lanvin would ever mass produce its bags or other items. They seem to like being intentionally less high profile than other luxury brands (I heard Alber Elbaz never offers his designs to celebrities.:flower: )

thanks for the info, taitai:smile: it's good to know that he likes to be "low-key" with his merchandise...kinda ironic, considering how much attention he's been getting as of late. btw, what was your opinion of the kansas bag?

will let you know when i get the bag... i never really "fell in love" with my black spy and so 'm so happy to have finally found a black bag with an edge:smile:

I saw the kansas in real life. Leather was great, very soft but personally I think it lacked that "wow" factor for me.
(btw, I'm sure your bag is authentic since you bought from a trusted seller, but if you need help authenticating some of the details let me know. E.g. the lining inside the bag, etc.)

Gorgeous bag, Taitai! Wow, it's even more beautiful than the barney's pics!!

It's sooo gorgeous... too bad I don't know where I can get one.....thanks for the pic taitai...you're so lucky.

Thanks everyone! :flower: I tried to get the picture to capture the burnished, copper-ish tones of the studs ^_^

Wow that bag must be really heavy no? Are those studs hollow or solid? What material are those, brass, steel, or ...? I wonder if they will rust with moisture and age...can they be re-polished?
