Lanvin S/S 2020 Paris

No as a Lanvin customer no I don’t like this version of Lanvin no no no if I want something ‘crafty’ I will go to Loewe I need elegance with a capital ‘E’ from Lanvin not this ‘handiwork’ thingy

And which grown woman would want to wear a bib I can’t fathom... (or that pixelated rainbow puke of a jacket)

Then only redeemable look is the opening look that’s all

This does not look like Lanvin at all...comic prints?? Those prints belong in an Iceberg, Castelbajac or Enrico Coveri collection...but not in Lanvin!

Its not good and very not original, but somehow I think that is a step in the right direction. What Lanvin was/is needing is to back to the game and a collection like this put in this house some allure of a luxury/fashion house.

I love this brand and unfortunately, for now, I dont see fashion I just wanna see a healthy brand, so this is fine for me.

He just went Full On Loewe there!
I like it because I like Loewe and he was part of it...But fo we need that, at this moment, at that price point?
The new Lanvin is little bit more expensive than Loewe and they don’t have the same hype...
Can it exist despite that? I don’t know...
I really like the color palette and the little cute dresses at the end.

Lanvin? B*tch where?! This is just a random ugly brand that I really don't like. I mean what are those? It doesn't even make sense. Some of it is inspired by the ''Little Nemo in Slumberland'' comic which is apparently ''the reminiscence of childhood'', then you have archival Mukesh embroidery (which is beautiful btw) and then you have some really random fringes and colorful pixels? I mean come on! He really couldn't settle on one theme at a time? Hideous.

Yeah, this is very Loewe! This season more than ever! Why spending money on this with Loewe offering the same stuff for the same price! And the real stuff! The critics are hating it, too. Even Luke Leitch who writes for Vogue admitted this looked a lot like Loewe and I'm not seeing Vanessa Friedman for the NYT or Cathy Horyn sugarcoating this as well.

I don't think I've ever seen anything as heavily copycatted as this collection, It's mind blowing! He didn't even make an effort to try to hide it! Some pieces or shall I say ALL pf the pieces look like they could come out of a bad Loewe show! My God!

I mean, he WAS head of design at Loewe. This aesthetic belongs to him in a sense, too. It's the same as when people criticize Julien and Natacha for having similarities to Nicolas... but how could they not have? I agree that he does have to find a balance and push a little more singularity to differentiate himself and his vision (this collection did a little bit more of than the previous), and I don't doubt the suits are probably pushing him to ride on Loewe's coattail. But i think "copycat" is a kinda harsh. It's not the same as a random designer stealing from a Prada collection, for example.

I agree with Booth Moore’s assessment. There’s a lot of good stuff going on here, there’s just maybe too much going on here. Every element of every look is a “thing.”

It’s not bad, just EXTRA, and so the good bits are difficult to discern.
