A really nice thread!
I adore layering, and how it can prevent basics from looking too plain and one dimensional! The Aquascutum collection is lovely in particular, I think.

off topic: i like how all those girls at the japanese layering post wear flats

I like the outfits in the first picture Kimkhuu posted.

^ love those japanese street style pics, the japanese are great at layering, they really know how to dress

I rarely like the look, but I think it's a cool way to avoid freezing to death and still look nice!

I love layering and the japanese street style. i have started to copy their style a little

Love the way they wear flat shoes also... infact thats my fav part :D

ohh...if only i could find more clothes like theirs!!

I love layering when it looks effortless, but I have so much trouble looking effortless, because it's not. And that s*cks.:p

I like it.
I just discovered how to do it, and its quiet simple. You just kinda start out slow... a tank under a tee or leggings under a skirt. Its cute and works well to keep warm in California.

When I do layer...I find that I need to spend quite sometime to put together an outfit that's supposed to look "effortless"

and yea..it works great in California, because it can get realy warm now during the day but can get pretty cold at nite too! :)

I love layering. esp the aquascutum ones ad the japanees street style :woot:

I have been doing it a bit the last few years without thinking of it, I think it makes me look a bit taller  :innocent:

A Layered Approach on the Runways

style.com

June 12, 2008 – While the mercury is currently soaring outside, it's also dropping like a stone inside over-air-conditioned offices. One solution? Take a cue from the Fall runways and layer away. While Akris, Thakoon, and Threeasfour perfected the now-standard dress-over-pants combo, Veronique Branquinho and Wolfgang Joop at Wunderkind went one step further, pairing the skirtsuit with pants or leggings. Meanwhile, the double-jacket trick was mastered at A.F. Vandevorst and Alexander McQueen—you may not want to try that one in 90-degree heat, but come September, why not?
