*not...
i had this same initial knee jerk reaction to the leggings thing...
'no way- not going back there'...but in truth...
the women i see pullling this look off best- are in fact WOMEN and not teens and twenties...probably because they still HAVE their leggings from theh 80's and know exactlly how to work the look...
this probably is not the case in other parts of the world...but in NYC...many of the best dressed and stylish people on the street are the older ones who have gotten all the experimenting out of their system and polished up their look....
i see some amazing stylish 50-60+ yr olds...
slim and leggings clad...

I've been trying to stop wearing them so often because everyone else is wearing them but they seem to go with everything! I've got a few longer tops/short dresses which only match with skinnies or leggings, and I can't resist wearing them under skirts on nights out. For me, they've become more of a neccessity or a wardrobe staple than a trendy item. Is that a bad thing?

I do not wear them under mini denim skirts, that really is 2005/2006-ish. I wear em with a small piece of black fabric (that's suppose to act as a skirt) or mini (sweater)dresses. Mostly with heels, sometimes with great boots.

I used to wear them under oversize sweaters, purely because it was SO comfortable in my super-cold apt. Once I got a couple of pairs of ankle boots, I threw those on, and suddenly had an outfit. Anyhow, I'm scared I look "fashion-victim"-ish, though I've been wearing them for a while... so I was hoping some of you more fashion-aware members could post some outfits that you like... just for the rest of us to get inspiration (and validation that we're wearing ours right!)
I'm just so confused after reading all these posts that I'd love some visuals!

I can't remember her name, but she works at French Vogue.
I like the unexpected flash of flesh just at her ankles. I think the interesting shoes are key to this look.
