Leggings

i actually like leggings but i never wear them with miniskirts just simply because my thighs aren't really miniskirt material.. but as it is most of the time windy and cold in finland and sun is a rare sight in here, you have to have something underneath your skirts. i prefer those that go half way to your leg or then just above ankle. i think it looks cute with low heels. for me it's not really matter if they are in or out, i just try to find my own ways to wear them, not with miniskirt, since that is also one of teenage uniforms here too

fash ho' i think leggings are good with dresses and you really should care if someone is off with them. i think you should just go for it :flower:

its funny because i haven't tried them because they seemed to teenagey for me. but i am fed up because I have all my lovely vintage summer dresses and skirts out and its still a bit cold/erratic weather here in denmark. So I tried a pair last night and with high-heeled sandals, it looked actually okay. (My dresses are all knee length or longer.

but since so many people are totally off them, it makes me nervous. Maybe I will post in the Does it Work thread. Or maybe I shouldn't second guess myself if I know they will get dissed anyway!

I also think , you should go for it!

Maybe some Hollywood Stars can show you, how do wear your leggings:

I absolutely hate leggings with minis. But I think they look super cute under a dress or with a tunic-length shirt. It's kind of hard to pull them off, though.

I've been wanting to come back to these forums last week, but some idiot hijacked my AOL account and got me in trouble. So I just want to say that it's a pleasure to be back on these message boards.

Now on with business as usual.

Even though I'm a guy, I've hated leggings all my life. I would only wear capris if I was a girl and wanting to accent my legs. Leggings lack style on so many levels. Hated them in the 1980s, hated them in the early 1990s. Why don't leggings make like Star Trek reruns and DIE ALREADY!!!

I always had a bold take on this trend of leggings under skirts (or any bottoms with short hemlines). In mid-spring, this look seems more like something appropriate for colder weather, not mid-spring heat. They are even worse in Goth/punk look. I've always said that a lady wearing a mini skirt obviously is happy about baring her legs and feet out in public. Why mess it all up with leggings? There has long been an alternative to those who love wearing something short as as there's something equally appealing underneath- and they are skorts. There was a time when many ladies had very short skirts, but were hiding shorts underneath. This is a much better alternative than pairing a mini skirt with leggings.

I've always been critical of leggings. They just completely lack style to me. Hated them then, hate them now, hate them more than ever when paired with a miniskirt. But that's just me.

Oh, and Harvz88 and BabyJ and others, you aren't the only ones who hate leggings. Perhaps I'm the first GUY to state dislike of leggings. But I'm saying this because I haven't seen anything past Post #20 yet.

Leggings are a great accessory. I think they should be worn more. Lots of style and colors now. Women should show their legs as you mentioned. If they have them then they should not hide them but the style makes their outfits look more appealing. Good with shorts, skirts, and knickers, pedal pushers, knee pants for style along with sandals, flats, or tennis shoes.

But still. If I was a girl and I was wearing a mini skirt or something, I think of only a few accesories I'd rather wear than leggings including (1) socks, (2) stockings, (3) anklets, or I'd make like some Japanese girls and go with (4) flared leg warmers. I'd ditch the leggings completely. Only leggings I have is one pair of long johns (not to be confused with my name of John), and those are underwear. I basically think leggings should be underwear and nothing else. Only leggings I'd wear as a lady would be body-hugging capris and pedal pushers. Ditch the leggings, sweetheart.

At least, that's my view.

i think if youre into a certain scene they look okay. if you dress preppy or very cookie cutter all the time but then you throw some leggings into the picture then you look too trendy. but if you're more on the alternative fashion then throwing some skull print leggings under a black/white stripped tunic looks rad.

I do love that Marc by Marc Jacobs-look with the ballet-ish dress and the cardi. The leggings don't look too trendy.

I dont care for the look. Then again, I am only looking at it, not wearing it. It doesnt look that good. If anything the two tone looks a little better than the ballet like dress on the left with the outfit.

Regarding the skull tights, those are kinda nice. I saw those online at Hottopic.com. There are some running tights styles I am looking into soon. Let you know.

I thought leggings were supposedly out now..
but I guess it's okay if you wanna still wear them. Do as you wish people :)

Those purple leggings are nowhere near as bad as those shoes!
I never thought leggings looked bad, and they were insanely practical, it's just that they got too trendy that anyone wearing thim looks like a fashion victim.
