Legs - Hair Removal

PLEASE HELP ME!! WHATS HAPPENING TO ME?!?!

SO i purchased a Braun silk-epil xelle a few days ago...and OMG!!! it hurt like HELL!!!!! and it didnt seem that it pulled my hair out as it cut it right at the surface...because if feels like i have stubble....

and the WORST part...i have this red rash/bumpy bits going on...i put cortisone ointment to make it better, but its so DAMN itchy...

from anyones experience...is their anything i can do, prior, durring, and/or after epilating to make this better for me?

its tuesday and im going on the beach sunday, is their anything i can to to make the red bumps go away? can i spray tan over them? it looks gross...

help...

exfoliate like hell beforehand - you'll notice the difference!!

Agree, always exfoliate skin before shaving or waxing.. It really helps prevent irritation and gets all the hair out..

Can anyone reccomend a good epilator to buy? I've never tried one beore but it sounds like the way to go for hair removal in genral. Does anyone have the Silk-épil 7 Wet & Dry from Braun? The website says it can be used in the bath which is apparently less painfull, anyone tried it?

I thought about buying a wet+dry epilator, but decided against it. I just don't think it'd work very well, wouldn't wet hair make it hard for the tweezers to grab them?

I went with Braun's Silk-epil Xelle 5270, it comes with three different attachments and has a "smartlight". For the first few times I used the attachment with massaging rollers, and it must've helped, because it wasn't nearly as painful as I was dreading (or I just have a high tolerance for pain). If your leg hair is "virgin", as in it's never been pulled out of the follicles before, then be prepared for pain. But it goes away after a few times. Also, the smartlight is awesome! Helps me see hairs I would've missed without it and gets me baby smooth.

I have to make sure to exfoliate my legs every day though or I get ingrowns around my knees and calves. Korean "Italy" towels are great for that. I never thought I'd love my legs because of the dark hair that looks like it's still there after I shave, but the epilator has saved me! I've definitely been taking better care of my legs since I got mine, and it's showing. :)

Cold wax for me please. It might hurt more but it lasts for almost a month and that really works for a person too lazy for daily shaving like myself.
Plus, i'm quite clumsy, so i try to keep any razors as far from me as possible!:p

I use cold wax. It's super cheap. Costs about 0.80lv (0.50$) and there is enough wax for full legs or even more. Once a month is perfect for me. But you have to bear in mind that cold wax requires skills and it hurts. If you do it yourself, the pain is less.

i purchased my first epilator last week and it hurts like hell and take me ages to do it because of that but once it's done, it is completely worth it. the hair doesn't grow back for about 2 weeks for me (mine grows very fast and is quite thick sadly). i think most of you ladies will stay hairless for longer.
