Lily Donaldson

I clearly remember that editorial from US Vogue. I think it is superb! Thank you for the HQs.

Do you guys think she will have longevity in the industry? To me she's already fading and i really really hope that's not the case because I absolutely love her and miss her terribly.

I don't think she's 'fading'. She's one of those girls like Stam , that have accomplished so much in high fashion and heading towards a more commercial route with a few high fashion editorials/ campaigns here and there. She is different from those Masha Tyelnas of the world that have faded but not truly made an impact in the industry :) As for the longevity question she definitely does seeing as she's been int his industry since 2003 and is still relevant

^ you're right. I just really miss her! I remember how elated I was when I saw her at the Chanel resort show. I literally starting shouting for joy at my laptop and then realized I was at school and people were starring haha... Since VS is expanding into Europe with their first store already in London, they should just go ahead and make her an official angel. Then she can do all the promoting for that market at least.

Well, visibility-wise, she is fading. She no longer do many shows and appears in countless editorials and magazine covers. However, she has already cemented her status as a top model and I think she chooses to do more lucrative jobs now, i.e. commercial work. Like Aldo and VS.

Lily's career is definitely slowing down, but I suppose that's to be expected. She has outlasted many of her contemporaries and that's certainly to be appreciated. Also she's still working, even if the jobs are not the same calibre as they used to be. Though I do miss her on the cover of Vogue, it's been a full year since her last.

Her horse riding accident must have slowed her work down a bit, so I hope that all the jetsetting lately will show up in a few months as some good campaigns and editorials. It seems that she has been working a lot lately, (NYC, Paris, Arizona, Stockholm, London, and Miami all in one month) so I'm excited to see how all that pans out.

I read in the Metro that VS will be opening up a flagship store in London on Bond Street next year, and that the 2012 show is rumoured to be held there. Not sure of the validity of that, but I wonder if the fact that Lily is British will have an effect on her role in the show next year (if that's all true).

These are from yesterday:

Sexy as hell in that little black dress,:woot: and no matter what she wears she still always looks pretty and chic:heart:

I think it's probably not fair to judge her career too much right now, although she's been working pretty solidly (Vogue, VS, Ahlens, Aldo etc.) in spite of six months out after the horseriding injury - her first walk back was at the Oprah Winfrey thing, and certainly in terms of visibility she seems to be out there and getting work.

Lovely day back at the fair in the Miami convention center, and a quick stroll on the beach before my flight home!
