Feel the Joie
The Rose Bar's fashion family affair
Tuesday, February 05, 2008
(NEW YORK) Dowtown at the Gramercy Park Hotel, la famille Roitfeld took over the Rose Bar for some late-night revelry.
Julia Restoin Roitfeld,
Theodora Richards, and
Lily Donaldson hosted a party for
Serge Azria and Joie, while happy mama
Carine spent the night presiding over the festivities. "I'm so proud that she now has her own business and identity," said Carine of her daughter.
Tory Burch,
Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld,
Andrea Casiraghi,
Genevieve Jones,
Zani Gugelmann, and a slew of others were all in attendance.
"The owner of Joie is an old-time family friend and they live close to us and are good people, said Restoin Roitfeld. "They are based in L.A. and it was time for them to have a proper New York party," she continued. Azria couldn't have been happier with his surroundings. "It's very natural when you meet and work with good people who are symbolic of success."
So, what makes a great party? For Restoin Roitfeld, it's all about "good people, good music, and good drinks!" while
Lapo Elkann laughed, "The better question is what makes a great product!"
For Richards, a party's only as good as its guests. "I like environments where people are unique and aren't afraid to take risks," she said. "The whole thing about taking yourself too seriously in all black is getting old." For her 23rd birthday party in March, Richards would love a party with a keg of Guinness and a floor covered in peanut shells.
