I actually feel like all the tops have gotten much looser lately. They seem happier ^_^ and less scowley-top-model-ish. ^_^

Interviewers note:
Jessica and Lily are extremely sympathetic girls. When I said that my boyfriends would like to accompany them in Grand Bazaar, they said “Of course they can come, we’d like to meet them”. They asked a lot about Turkish food and main shopping centers. Jessica was posing all the time during the 30-minute interview while Lily was trying to be serious. When we made a photograph together, I said “There is an ugly girl between you two” but Jessica supported me a lot by saying “Don’t ever said that, you’re very beautiful”. It was good to hear something like that by someone whose 15th on The Best Models list.

Lots of people know you, your careers. But if you have to introduce yourself to Turkish people, what would you tell?
Lily: I’m from London, I’m 22 years old and I am blonde!
Jessica: I’m 23 years old, a bit older than Lily, I can be her sister. I’m Canadian. I was born on a farm. And the last thing is...now I’m a New Yorker.
Jessica had been dreaming of becoming dentist when she was little, but Lily had always been dreaming of becoming a model, that’s true?
J: I was going to a dentist a lot some years ago because of the gap between my two front teeth. I was like 13-14 years old at that time so frankly speaking, I didn’t mind what to become when I would grow up. Maybe I told it so because at that time, I was seeing my dentist a lot.
L: Like you have said, I have always wanted to be a model and finally, I became one!
What was on your mind when you were coming Istanbul for Fashionable Istanbul?
L: I have just been thinking it will be an extremely exciting experience for us.
J: The shows will be on a platform which will be set on water. That means that we will really be on somewhere which joins Asia and Europe. It’s really an exciting event.
What does this event mean to you?
L: I liked it because it gave us the chance to see a country that attracted our attention for a longtime but could never find the opportunity to come. I can say it’s very important for us just because of that.
What are you going to do here? Will all your time pass with preparing to the shows?
L: We will be on the all shows. But we also want to discover Istanbul! Especially, we have to taste its dishes.
J: Maybe we can even make a Bosphorus tour.
What were you thinking about Istanbul before you came here?
J: I didn’t have any prejudgments about the city. But I knew that you’re good at jewelry.
And how did you find the city?
J: People, the ambiance, the view are wonderful. We’re really satisfied with this trip.
Will you attend to the after party’s?
L: We will attend all of them. You can call Turkish guys J
J: They can come with us to Kapalıçarşı(Grand Bazaar). No problem!
Many of my boyfriends told me to ask if you’re ordinary people like us.
J: We both can fly! Just kidding! Well, as I grew up on a farm, I can easily get along with farm animals and plants. That could be my only special ability.
L: We don’t have extraordinary forces. I can draw, paint, cook. That’s all..
Do you know any Turkish models or designers?
J: Actually I know the photographer Mert Alaş. I’ve worked with Mert&Marcus before.
L: There are many models from different countries in this industry. When we see the face, the we can recognize them. For example, me and Jessica are friends. But other than that, it’s hard to know everyone’s name by heart.
There is a lot of competition between models. Do you ever feel some pressure?
J: We don’t feel like we’re on a competition. Most of the models are friends, already.
L: There is competition in every sector. Of course also in the modeling industry. But most of them are good friends, like me and Jessica. Our agencies and agents feel the pressure more than us.
What would you like to do or see before leaving Turkey?
L: As it’s my first time in this city, I’d like to discover as much as it’s possible.
J: I want to go Grand Bazaar and buy jewelry. I will also look for kilim(rug) and antiques.
