Last week I was sitting at Nadia’s dining table when she presented me with an unexpected Birthday present. A bible of sorts really, the Thierry Mugler: Galaxy Glamour book. A designer both Nadia and I hail as one of the greatest in history. The book showcase’s a whole heap of Mugler’s work that I hadn’t seen before plus all the iconic robotic stuff we all know so well, such a great gift Nadziggy! Inspiration, amusement and enlightenment in a birthday present is more than you could ever hope for I think! In a body of work that spans more than 30 years, it is amazing what a monumental grasp on his own creativity and ability to innovate Mugler has. It’s easy to see whilst looking at the images how much influence he has had on his contemporaries.
