Retired or not her legacy is astounding. She single handedly changed the fashion industry. We are unlikely to see something of this magnitude for a while. At her peak fashion was full of creativity not to mention 'fun'. Looking at the clothes around that time, it was so diverse. She knows she has a unique place in the industry, which allows her to contribute when it's appropriate. Fashion is a closed world and there is a hierachy where one do work suitable for that level.
It's an insult to ask Linda to do shows like a new model on the scene - she either opens or closes the shows and walks for huge occasions. Don't expect her to accept heaps of campaign, which most new(desparate) models seems to do in order to show they are important. She might do one or two campaigns a year but it's 'news', it has an impact to fashion's creativity. If you look at her campaigns they are all very artistic and creative, unlikely Kate Moss who looks the same no matter how many ads she's in or magazine covers as well. Even at her peak Linda only did one or two campaigns per season. I'm sure her rates allow her to do that, instead of 10 campaigns to make the same amount of money.
Another important point is the creative people that collaborated with her are dying. Gianni Versace worked so well with Linda not to mention Liz Tilbiris and Kevin Aucoin. Around the late 90s when they passed away I'm sure it would of had a huge impact on Linda's enthusiasm. I'm so glad Miesel is still collaborating with her, I hope they team up for more projects while they are still alive.
She after all has been an ambassador for L'oreal since '07', how many models wish they were in that position.
We all know covers do not pay. Linda is the undisputed queen of Italian Vogue - which leads the fashion pack. This is where she seems to do her cover work - at the heart of fashion.
Would you all like her to become reality star like Janice Dickinson or have show like Tyra Banks/Heidi Klum...? Even Elle and Andre has join this sad bunch.
Puleeze... these leeches are so desparate to hold onto their 15 minutes of fame, no matter what.
So guys, stop comparing Linda to the late 80s/early 90s, when she was everywhere for 2010 she did one campaign and a few l'oreal ads = that's more than enough for a model of her position. She was hired for that campaign and she delivered. She is also a woman aged 45 - I like to think she has developed more as a person than someone who is well known with many fans. Fashion is Fickle so is Fame. We all desire wealth and fame but how many really enjoys it when they have it?
Class is timeless. Let Linda be and if you miss her, look back at her body of work it is amazing.

Pd: I love the comment about Linda.

I think that certain interesting points were made in that comment, some of which I absolutely agree with. And besides, "angry" tone or not, it's just a person expressing their view.

And I don't consider L'Oreal's products "sh*tty". L'Oreal has been a popular, successful brand for quite a long time now. And best of all, we actually get to see Linda on tv in L'Oreal commercials (even commercials dubbed in Spanish).

We're lucky to still have Linda around AT ALL. She's 45 and has a growing kid. Someone's plans can change in the blink of an eye. Any day now, she might decide to pull the plug on her modeling career and focus solely on her personal life.
