Goodness! Those earlier instagram photos prior these pictures came out, were injustice. Seriously. Liu looked even more fantastic with those full-length shots!

And that picture where Liu models that Qeelin watch so effortlessly and chic - would've been a better shot with proper lighting. Wen's a classic.

Thanks Zelda Zonk and gilsa0870, as always! :mohawk:

The last clip in this three parts that led to the party...

Actually, as Liu receives plenty of exposure owing to attending the reality show, not surprisingly, the domestic masses knew more about her and the upcoming Met Gala. When you search the keywords like "Liu Wen" or "Met Gala" on WeiBo, you will find out this event becomes a topical subject recently.

^That's very good news to hear!

Yes, it's strategic and thank goodness that everything is going accordingly to plan - from her web series, reality show, to the leading of the MET with these two orchestrated gatherings to the actual day, of this year's theme, "Chinese: Through the Looking Glass".

This is her moment.

(My suggestion would've been that, Liu should've front a major magazine cover or some high profile gig, other than what's mentioned, to give her a bigger boost in recognition. Though of the covers she had so far weren't so shabby. Overall, Liu's team prevail eventually.)

On another note, just want to say that this was a success for Liu (of course, why wouldn't it be?), to be able to host and gain the respect and attention both from the industry and the public (I mean not mainstream, mainstream - but among us fashion folks), especially back home in China like gilsa0870 assured us.

And there's no denying that China and this year's MET were two of the backbone of facilitating this for Liu. And so glad that there's still many individuals supporting her.

This is incredible and things have to be brighter in the coming months.

Somehow, someone will frame this onto their mantel.
And will be a classic photo in a memoir or archive somewhere...

It captured the essence of Liu Wen perfectly.

It's getting serious...

Wendi Murdoch, Laurent Claquin, and Liu Wen celebrate “China: Through the Looking Glass”

With Met Gala Monday only a day away, last night proved to be the perfect outlet for everyone wanting to get in one last fete before the elegant evening. One of Monday’s cochairs, Wendi Murdoch, joined model Liu Wen and Laurent Claquin, head of Kering Americas, in hosting a dazzling party at the Baccarat Hotel just across from the Museum of Modern Art.

But instead of Pollocks or Warhols, the true gems in the room were the Qeelin pieces adorning guests. Creative director and cofounder of the jewelry house, Dennis Chan, sporting a Qeelin panda pendant in black and white diamonds, circulated through the room as designers including Christopher Kane, Giambattista Valli, Jason Wu, and Zac Posen took in the sparkle alongside Vogue’s Hamish Bowles, Sally Singer, and Chinese Vogue’s Angelica Cheung. As others including Mario Testino, Mel Ottenberg, and Veronica Chou took in the elegant settings, all chatter was about Monday evening. “I’m most excited about seeing the entire gala come together,” said Liu Wen. “The sharing of ideas between east and west is something special that’s also special to my own heart.”

Adding to this Murdoch said, “Andrew Bolton and Wong Kar Wai have collaborated to create an amazing exhibition that so incredibly illustrates how the Chinese culture has been celebrated throughout the ages and across cultural boundaries.” But I think Claquin summed it up best with what he’s most looking forward to: “The red carpet, of course!”

This doesn't allude/say too much. But knowing Liu, so much admiration and respect for her. Such a hard worker and to continuously bind and close that gap. A beautiful human being.

Did Liu skip the Cheongsam party? Haven't seen a photo of her at the event...

Or did it clash/coincide with her cocktail gathering?

IDK, just wondering.

And we've got these two Chinese beauties...Liu & Du!
