Lessons from Lonneke: The Merits of Coconut Water

The divine Lonneke Engel has been a successful model for over a decade, most famously as the face of Ralph Lauren. Now studying to be a certified health counselor, Chic Report asked her to share a new health and beauty tip every week. Enjoy!
Quite simply, I love coconut water. I drink it in the morning all summer, especially when I’m in the islands, before I exercise or go to work. It’s low in calories and has a lot of minerals, including more potassium but less sodium and sugar than sports drinks. And you don’t need to hunt down a real coconut-pick it up in the grocery store whenever you have a hangover or need extra energy. My favorite brand is Zico, which has only 60 calories per carton!

:crush: oh, so good to hear what she's doing these days. thank you for the article :flower:

Lonneke now works as a health counsellor, she is the manager and CEO of Organice LLC, www.organiceyourlife.com is their site. She says she has received her training at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and her certification will be completed in June 2008!

No idea if this one has ever been posted, it's simply beautiful. Found it on fashionweekdaily.com, but also on her site organiceyourlife.com, so it's probably taken from it.

For the time being, there is only a small pic on the site, hopefully a Dutch tFS-er will translate the interview:flower:.

Yes, it’s a healthy vegetable that tastes good and is very low in calories—but I use it to soothe my skin. I grate it, then spread it over my face and eyes as a mask, especially after fashion shoots, when my skin is tired and irritated. The juice is useful, too—I put it on a cotton pad and use it to clean my skin, like a natural astringent. Afterwards, my face feels softer and looks less inflamed!
