All right well I saw this on Lostpedia.org and it concerns the newspaper article Jack ripped out on the plane. Interesting...

highlight to read!

The first sentence of the article Jack carries around in the flash-forward seems to read, "The body of Jo.. [unreadable] ..antham of New York was.. [unreadable] ..[shor]tly after 4 a.m. in the.. [unreadable] of Grand Avenue. Ted.. [unreadable] ..man at The Tower.. [unreadable] ..loud.. [unreadable].. loft. Co.. [unreadable] ..entered the.. [unreadable] ..a beam in the.. [unreadable].."

This also supports the theory that the person who died was John Locke. This is too mind boggling to analyze!! But perhaps it could be related to the fact that Locke always tried to prevent everybody from getting off the Island (blowing up the submarine, killing Naomi) and in this way, he turned against the Losties who wanted so desperately to go home. And maybe Jack decided to go to the funeral because he now wanted to return to the island so badly.

I don't know.

2008 seems sooo far away.

Oh! And in regard's to peacelover's post... I read that ABC will NOT be doing the same thing they did with Lost this season in having that excruciating long hiatus. They have already determined that there will be 3 more seasons of lost (ending in 2010), and that the final 48 episodes will be aired as three seasons with 16 episodes each, uninterrupted from February to May.

I'm so glad because I think that hiatus caused them to lose a lot of viewers.

My friend (who watches LOST) and I have not been watching Season 3 on television because of our mixed up schedules etc (we don't like to miss an episode and then try and work our way into the next one) so we are DYING for the box set to come out! It won't be out until forever though

are you CRAZY?!? download it!!!! ;) :ninja:

i think my boyfriend and i are going to watch lost starting with season 1 in this 9 months until it starts up again. we're going to mathematically figure out how to watch it so we don't have any lag time between the end of season 3 and the beginning of season 4

I don't know if I can take 48 more episodes of Lost. I don't know how they're going to stretch this story out... I guess they have a plan. I just hope it doesn't lose its momentum. I'll be sad when it's over though..

My friends and I have this theory, which might be too far-fetched:p:

Charlie's note (the one he gave to Desomond) altered the future, the depressing one shown last night. Charlie's note existed because Desomond told him that he was going to die. Charlie expected his death. That note was not supposed to be in the future that Desomond visioned. The depressing future might be the original future, but somehow was changed because of the note. It happened in similar movies.

Feb is so far away...

I was so sad and depressed last night thinking abuot Jack's future :( Kinda pathetic, I know, but its so sad

haha i'm obsessed! I was reading the Sledgeweb's Lost site and someone brought up a good point. If Naomi wasn't workng for Penny, then why did she have a copy of that picture of Desmond and Penny?

oh yeah you're probably right. So his company Widmore is looking for Desmond? Aren't they working or sponsoring the Hanso Foundation? All these company and project names confuse me!

^I think you're right julesrules

Remember when Desmond was told by that woman in the park that the universe has a way of correcting itself?
They were all supposed to die in the plane crash but while they were on the island they were given a reprieve from death. Ben told them that they didn't want to leave the island because he knew that the universe would correct itself and if they went back to the real world that they would all eventually die. I think that when they returned, that they went back in time BEFORE the Oceanic crash and because of that, they changed the natural order of things keeping things that were supposed to happen from happening like Jack's father dying- Jack probably didn't report his father's drunken mistake to the hospital therefore his dad never took the trip to Australia and he didn't die like he was supposed to. I think that the reason that Jack turns into a junkie is because he was the one who made the call to get them off the island and now everyone who was rescued is dying because of his decision and he's riddled with guilt. He wants to get back to the island to try and put things right again.

Also, according to the Oceanic website they don't fly anymore, but Jack was on an Oceanic flight in the Flash forward, which would support the whole going back in time theory.

The funeral Parlour's name was an anagram on Flash Forward too

^That makes a lot of sense, but if they went back in time before the crash, it wouldn't explain the golden passes they got from Oceanic (I guess they started flying again?)

Poor Chalee. I didn't want him to die. The back in time theory is possible, only why would Oceanic give Jack the golden pass if he never crashed on one of their planes?

truebluejen- I think I understand what you are saying. So Ben was saying that the people who were on Flight 815 were going to die if they got rescued and went back to the real world? I'm guessing you are refering to what he said last night. For some reason, I thought he meant that if those specific people w/ Naomi come find them, everyone on the island would die.

I'm glad I haven't read any spoilers because I was shocked last night. My head hurts just thinking about it. I don't know if I can wait until February.
Matthew Fox deserves an emmy for his performance last night.

julesrules, I am so with your theory that was exactly what I was thinking. Plus it fits with the episode title of Through the Looking Glass Why else would Jack reference his father when talking to that Doctor if Christian wasn't alive/they weren't in a time period before the crash happened? I agree that they were allowed to go back and it some how has ruined the world they are in.

Either they're back in time or in an alternate universe. Something huge has happened.

My favorite moment of the evening was Hurley saving Sawyer and Juliet.

All I can say is wow. Next season is going to be something. Everything we know will change.

^But I don't think the existence of the Golden Pass would make sense if that was the case! :o

I still think Jack was just being sarcastic about his father being alive (Scripted so the fact that it's a flash forward was less obvious)...the African-American doctor was new, so he wouldn't know what to do besides have a blank look on his face as Jack rants

...this episode made me really depressed! I liked it, but seeing jack like that and along with charlies death..i felt so down afterwards
But, I do have to agree that it was AMAZING..the producers did a great job wrapping this season up.

I just don't know Faith I am so confused!

Because if Jack's flash foward is taking place in the future then Oceanic Airlines would be closed because after the crash it goes bankrupt and is shut down, at least thats what the Oceanic website used to say during the time of The Lost Experience, the url isn't working for me right now so I can't double check. If they received golden passes afterwards they would have to be from another airline or some outside source.

If so who is the source and who is on that rescue boat if its not Pene's people??

This show is such a brain teaser, there are so many theories flying around right now I don't know how I'm going wait 9 months for everything to start up again
