Speaking of the Portuguese/Brazilian guys, one of them said "That's it, isn't it? We missed it again--" and then he said "They're gonna kill us!" but this last part wasn't translated.

Oh, forgot about the foot... that was weeeird. Four toes! lol

The hanso foundation is the financier of the Dharma Initiative. The lost experience surrounds thehansofoundation.org. You can learn more about that at thelostexperience.com or thelostexperienceclues.blogspot.com. They are very shady. They have done a lot of bad stuff. Also, we dont know why those guiys talking portugese and pen knew what they know. thats why its a cliffhanger

You know, I couldn't tell if those guys in the last minutes of the episode were Portuguese or Brazilian, because the actors are neither (judging from their undefinable accent). But in "real life", Brazil has a research station in Antarctica. Thought that was randomly interesting

Okay, I've listened to their dialogue again and they're definitely trying to go for a Brazilian accent. And you're right about the grammar structure, it is basically the grammatic structure of our language, as well as the word usage and the way they try to pronounce the words.
So my guess is they're supposed to be Brazilians.

It's funny how many Brazilian fans are actually thinking that they're Portuguese because of the different accent, but if they pay attention they'll realize that people don't really speak like that in Portugal.

i just watched the episode and OMG! my mouth literally dropped in the very last scene

the only thing that i really did not understand was henry gale's words "your friends are coming home with us" i mean what the heck.. what home? where are they taking them now? and what is going to be in the destination where michael and walt are heading? what is the rescue? GOOSH so many questions

I can't follow the game properly either... but try to keep up with what they post in the blog (thelostexperience.com), at least you won't be missing out on all the information.

i find thelostexperienceclues.blogspot.com to be an easier site to understand if that helps.

but yeah, its really confusing. i dont know if its majorly important to the show. the producers said that it was kind of independant of the show in a way. anyone else have problem accessing certain clues? i cant go into Hugh McIntyre's stuff at all, or into the Board of Directors stuff even though i follow the protocal.

And about penelope I dont know if she is neccessarily part of hanso, remember how she told Desmond "if you have enough money and determination, you can find anyone." Even if her father is involved in Desmond's disappearence, she may just be using her money and determination to try and find him. of course, how she knows hes in a place with electromagnatism, who knows. taht could relate to hanso, they do electromagnetic stuff

Here's what the producers said, in their latest podcast, about the two men who were speaking Portuguese:

(VERY SPOILERISH FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T WATCHED THE FINALE YET)

[they were saying that this season finale's secret scene consisted in two parts. ]

Damon: "... a top secret scene that no one knows about, except for the sort of... you know, the people who need to shoot it. Last year it was 'the bagel', and that was Walt's abduction. And this year was 'the challah', and 'the challah' 's comprised with two scenes this year, the first part being our two friends in the Arctitc station-- well, we don't know if it's the Arctic--

Carlton: "Portuguese"

Damon: "--but they're Portuguese guys. We don't know where they are but wherever they are it's very cold; it's been... people have been telling us Arctic and Arctica(?)--

Carlton: "Or they could be Brazilians speaking(?) Portuguese, couldn't they?"

Damon: "They could be, because that is the language of Brazil"

Carlton: "Yes it is"

Damon: "But they are speaking Portuguese and that was one part of 'the challah'..."

So, basically, we can't be sure whether they're friggin' Portuguese or Brazilians. These producers love to play with us (they say one thing then they say it could be something else...). But, like it was mentioned before, judging from the way the characters speak, they're Brazilians.

I can't wait for the Season Finale here in Australia. We have quite a bit to wait though. I don't mind waiting, because in the meantime there are all of the other episodes I haven't even seen yet! I can't wait for the S2 dvd to come out!
