Louis Vuitton: Damier vs Monogram

i happen to think that the papillon is one of the few bags of LV that are more young than oldish looking
plus i think 21 is not being a teen anymore so carrying one wouldnt look bad IMO ;)
I can see Orochian's point, because I have seen older people carrying it. But I've also seen some young people looking good with it ;) I guess it could work for both!

But Leyla I'm glad you think that it wouldn't look bad, because I personally love it (and thats why I want to get it!)

I think the Papillon is very youthful! I voted for the monogram because I think the Damier is masculine looking.

:flower:

I think the papillion is one of the only LV styles I like. I think the other ones are WAY more old ladyish. Even though I think the bedford is cuter, the damier is the only one that doesn't scream: HEY, LOOK AT MY LV BAG.

Monogram is much nicer than Damier (Damier looks old)

I wear alot of browns/creams/beige...so the Damier pattern is one of my faves. BUT, I don't like the way it looks as the Papillon...it looks hot as the manosque.

Oooh that's nice :) But I think the Papillon looks younger and flirtier ;)

I too think that the Papillon is one of LV's more youthful looking bags.. i'm thinking of getting the smaller one myself.. (it's cheaper... :P). I'd say go with the monogram.

The smaller one is much cheaper, but I like the bigger one so much better ;)

I got the Papillon 30 today... in Damier! I still hadn't really decided yet when I went there with my mom, but then I tried out both in front of the huge mirror and both my mom and the sales thought I looked better with the Damier, and so I decided to go for it ;) Thank you so much for everyone who gave me suggestions/comments/advice/feedback, I do take it to heart

Now I'm wondering... does anyone know if there is a serial number inside the detachable pouch that comes with the Papillon? If there is, where is it located? Cause I can find it in the Papillon, but I can't see it in the pouch

The SA was probably on commisson just kidding  Im happy for you, i so want a papillon now but im only after the Cherry Blossom ones.

I say, Monogram. It's so classic. Even though they are soooooo rediculously popular now, the monogram has been for 150 years, it's timeless. Plus, for some reason I always think of mens accessories when I see the Damier, I don't know why, mabye cause they use that a lot for the men's line.

If you want to buy LV, go to europe! They are WAY cheaper here then in the states, hehe...
I'd love to go to Europe... (I've never been!!!), but the plane ticket + accomodation would probably cost more than the extra $$ that I pay for the bag elsewhere... :P I will definitely go someday though!! It's one of the things that I won't feel complete without doing, and it's not just for the purses either ;)

I like both styles, but lately I've been into the Suhali collection...I love the hardware on the bags...

I own this bag, only it's in white...I would love to see them create luggage in this line :flower:
