Louis Vuitton Keepall - Too Common Now?

When I went to NYC last week I did carry a Speedy as my purse, then I switched with my sis to a papillon... but I carried this big black carryon... I saw so many fake (stiff, wrong monograms) keepalls at the Atlanta airport I nearly chocked on my smoothie. :D I'm for the scarf around the head- I wore this super bright missoni scarf around my hair and I got a bunch of compliments for it and my mom's huge jackie-o glasses helped....

REAL OR FAKE?

My guess would be - FAKE !
The LV insignias are well aligned, but the leather is very pale.
I make a general assumption that pale leather indicates a fake - it will not deepen in colour over time as the authentic leather. Yes, it could be a brand new authentic bag - but that is not so common.
I have a rarely used authentic LV suit-bag with pale leather, but I put it in the sun to help change the leather so it didn't look fake when I took it to the airport.

Lastly, the small leather strap which holds together the handles appears to be missing. I also think the bandoulier strap looks to stiff even for a new bag. So my assessment - FAKE!

Haha...just reading through my old thread...jeez how shallow was I back then?!!!

Ah love growing up!

Huh, didn't think I'd see such an old thread again, lol.

My current take on Vuitton:

If possible, get a vintage. When the Vuitton bag looks old, broken in, tattered, with scratches and stuff, it will look better than a brand new one. But only when you can up the glamour factor with your wardrobe, lol.

My Speedy is just a few years old, but it spent so much time in the sun, I've practically beaten it up, stuffed it with my thickest and heaviest books (FINALLY found a use for all those Encyclopedia's ) and had my monogram added on the canvas, and it totally looks like a vintage piece, hahaha.

i think rather than get that fake one, i'd just get a bunch of strangers, pay them $20 each to walk around with cameras and play paparazzi for about 1/2 hour or so....now THAT would get you some attention.

lol, June, that's my definition of sad . Paying people just to act all like "please, get those cameras out of my face".....ya kno, like something Bryanboy likes to do. (we kno u frontin bb ;))

 well, im sure it'd be cheaper than even a fake LV....

and I WAS being quite sarcastic ;)

I own some LV bags, but being epi leather nobody recognise them ever, anywhere. I also have an azur damier, again nobody looks at it. But the whole point of buying anything luxury is the beauty and craftmanship of it. If you appreciate it, why bother what others think? It is like wearing silk underwear, you feel wonderful (but nobody can see it).

Whenever I see LV in MC i think "probably fake". Only 1% of LV articles sold are genuine...

There's nothing like the vintage glamour of a real LV hard suitcase, an item that will last you a long time. The smell, the texture, the craftsmanship. The only problem I can see is that it might get stolen, but I don't go anywhere near airports. Fake bags might be cheap, but its airports that are nasty. No amount of glamorous accessories can compensate for being herded like cattle and fingerprinted like a criminal.

You won't feel glamourous lugging around a fake LV keepall. You are mistaking ostentation for glamour. Maybe the people around you will think so but will you really feel it in yourself?
Besides, crowdy airports are far from glamarous .

agreeed! you wont feel glamourous because you know its a fake even if other people may think you are.

even if i had the money i would be kinda worried to buy LV luggage bag, there is greater chance someone may just take my luggage. And all the hassle to get it back and find it, that just doubles the pain of airplanes.
I would stick to good quality plain bag and just wear stylish stuff
