Louis Vuitton Mens S/S 2020 Paris | the Fashion Spot

Louis Vuitton Mens S/S 2020 Paris

Considering that the collection was mostly designed through WhatsApp with a designer nearly absent from the studio and clearly spending time on the internet searching for good ideas to copy....It’s not that bad.
Unfortunately, no vision, no desirability.
The fit is off and there’s nothing luxurious about it. Even the YSL by Pilati inspired plastron looks crafty.
Raf and Craig Green clearly had a top spot on the mood board.

The shocking pink almost fitted suit could have been great...

Honestly this is his first collection that I can see an effort, an intent. The color scheme is very springy and pleasing for my eyes.

BUT he is very American (neither bad or good) but he lacks the French refinement or at least European refinement I did expect. Everything is quite baggy. I like fitted clothes or at least to have a shape.

Plus, he has two big flaws. First, the lack of direction - he wants to be street yet to be intellectual. That explains the horrendous two last looks. Secondly, he needs to hire a better stylist to edit the looks.

I love the casting, and the color palette.
Everything else is disgusting, and insulting.

Any form or refinement! Have you seen the trouser waists? Press him about it and he'll say it's a 'design element'. I don't really care about the baggy trousers. Everyone seems to be doing them, and a strong stylist should be able to build the proportions so that the entire thing doesn't look like you're in the middle of a tailoring session.

Mad about the pastel colour rendering, and that shade of grey. But that's really it. He copied way too much from Craig Green here and it's so literal that one cannot even deny it. I can't wait for his intellectual justification for stacked presentation. Oh it's fashion meets art, fashion meets architecture, fashion meets politics.....
And I hope for his sake the clothing will sell because accessories do NOT look strong at all.

It's so disheartening that he can be so blatant in his facsimile of the work of Craig Green, pass it off instead as a reference to Christo and then is forgiven. Craig's work is infinitely better and doesn't come across looking like Ikea laundry baskets. How Abloh can make the most prestigious luxurious house look so cheap when he has unlimited resources at hand is quite some achievement.

Wow.
This is criminal.
It’s all stolen from other designers.
But he made all of their great ideas look cheap and tacky.
I can’t even believe I feel compelled to add one more negative review here.
What a hack. Thank u next

In my film critique class once a girl plagiarised a review from Roger Ebert and the professor caught it. He said if you want to copy someone, don't copy the best because whatever change you try to make, it wouldn't be as good as the original and the audience is already aware of the original.

In this case, he doesn't even have the talent to make the most off the looks he copies. And he chose to copy Craig, Pilati and Raf. Just go back to sell your "idea" t-shirts and stop lowering the fashion industry standards.

Three positive things:

1. The color palette
2. The cast
3. That one knitted, floral sweater—> possibly the best clothing item I’ve seen from his offerings so far.

The rest? Laughable as always. He needs to learn from Dries about how to create an acceptable baggy look.

I know this is going to sound really unintelligent and obtuse but but gee wiz, these clothes are STUPID.

You know how some people think "Fashion" is anything with rhinestones? Or covered with feathers? Or those who think "Fashion" means black, drapey and asymmetrical? Well apparently Virgil just thinks "Fashion" is just random sh*t slapped on clothes dyed in random colors. I suppose it's "edgy" or "conceptual" or WHATEVER.

What an absolutely POOR collection.
