Love #14 Fall / Winter 2015 by David Sims

this cover is much better but it is still a cr*p...
I wish I never read that interview... her ideas are so incoherent... as someone said, she wanted to appeal to every single possible audience... just like Marc Jacobs campaign...
Putting Cher under 'talent' is ridiculous... she is not a mere 'talent' she is the legend... the word talent is simply too small for personalities like her... and clearly an overstatement when it comes to people like Poppy... I didn't know she was considered to be an actress...
They just wanted to put popular people on the cover and didn't really have guts to make more original choices...
Moreover, when you have someone as big as Cher (and by no means I am her fan), one cover should be enough...

Exactly. The issue hits newsstands in 10 days and they've already released 10 covers. By the time it's up for sale there will be like 15 different covers (and only 2 or 3 available where I live). Ridiculous and desperate strategy to say the least.

There are some terrific cover images here but the art direction downgrades each one dramatically! The masthead and fonts fail to do any of the images justice, and I just loathe the whole artsy/messy vibe. Alicia Vikander's cover shot is wonderful, I wouldn't have minded seeing that used on the cover of Vogue or W, actually. But yeah.. 10 covers later and I'm still not the slightest bit interested (even with Kate Moss and Gisele Bündchen thrown into the mix).

I LOVE Alicia's cover. She is definitely one of the most talented up-and-coming actresses at the moment, so good to see her here.

Poppy is a socialite/model/actor, so she basically attends events and parties for a living.

I'm looking forward to this but are too many covers already!

Well Katie Grand knows nothing, David Sims has shot Kate within the last decade on a number of occasions (Longchamp S/S 10 & F/W 10, Dior S/S 11 etc..).

she had to justify using Kate again...and again...and oh! again!;-)

Oh snap! You better not post that on her instagram.

Lol. Too funny.

The error is actually mine! Please don't let my phrasing color your opinions.

Katie Grand hangs herself slowly

Excellent value for money

Sarah Burton Talks Roses, Decay in Latest Issue of Love

IT’S SHOWTIME: Love’s autumn/winter issue, out July 27, is called “The Talents,” and editor in chief Katie Grand said the focus is on “people who have a natural ability — and who have taken it all the way.”

There are seven covers, featuring Cher, Florence Welch, Gisele Bündchen, Alicia Vikander, C-3PO, Kate Moss and Poppy Delevingne, and the issue is Love’s largest yet, with a record 256 ad pages.

Inside, Grand endeavored to pair “icons with fans,” so the editorial mix includes Cara Delevingne on her sister Poppy; a “love letter” to C-3P0 by Grimes, and interviews by model Edie Campbell with Elizabeth Hurley, Amanda Harlech, and Sarah Burton, creative director of Alexander McQueen.

Burton discusses the role of the rose in her fall collection, describing how her inspiration came from David Sims’ photographs of the roses growing on the walls of his former school playground.

“These beautiful flowers on the verge of decay. I love the idea that in nature there is not only beauty in life but also in death.” In her fall show, Burton said the clothing was meant to “unravel and peel away like the petals of the roses. Lace begins to ladder, fabrics begin to fray, and the clothes begin to shroud her rather than restrict her.”

Grand said she wanted Campbell in particular to write the story on Burton, who rarely sits for interviews. “This McQueen collection seemed a very special one for Sarah. As an observer, it looked super personal and I wanted Edie, who has worked with Sarah many times, to give us an intimate insight into the collection,” the editor said.
