Luminous, Dewy and Healthy Looking Makeup

Ok, so i use:

When i'm tanned i absolutely  to use Calvin Klein's Liquid Crystals as a highlighter.

Also i love Estee Lauder's Pure Pops Cream Eyeshadow in Golden Seduction. (I know it's an eyeshadow, but it looks AB-FAB on my cheek-bones, brow-bones, etc)

And the best foudnation is  Diorskin Pure Light:heart: , definately gives you that dewy look! People always tell me that i glow!^_^

DiorSkin Skinflash is a great highlighter too to brighten the face and it looks very natural...

 There are so many different recommendations!
What product would you all rec for somebody who only wears moisturiser or tinted moisturiser for an easy, everyday, non-glittery glow? Preferably something not too pricey? Some of the MAC products sound lovely, but I'm just a bit confused with all these products.. highlighters and illuminators and illuminisers! :p

Paperheart, I would recommend the following:
BECCA skin perfector...it's not quite a foundation, but it gives more coverage than a tinted moisturiser, and it definitely gives your skin a glow without being sparkly.
Or, Olay do a moisturiser which has SPF, lots of vitamins to make your skin healthy as well as a touch of shimmer for extra glow. You could use this as a base before another product, or mix it with a foundation.

o jave dry sklin and i use prescriptives illumination potion magic. the darker one and mix iwthw ith my foundation so i look tannish and glow so naturally! people always compliment on my face haha and ask me if its makeup or real. only people who expeirence with lots of makeupo knows i use a ssecret magic potion haha. really try it. wiorjks wonder! it has the 3 pigment thingie that mkaes you totally glowy and flawless! im gonig to get another bottle tomorrow as i finished it =P

I'm quite lazy and especially if I have early classes I just use moistursiser - Happyderm L'oreal for normal/dry skin. It has a peachy glow to it =) As the weather's becoming warmer over here, I've started using clinique cityblock, and find that it gives a nice dewy look without getting red, which my cheeks are prone to when it's really sunny. I guess it's because it acts as a lightly tinted moisturiser+ primer.

If i'm going out, I'll use Armani Luminous Silk Foundation 5.5 for winter and 6.5 in summer. Their fluid sheer range is pretty amazing as well.

Benefit hollywoodglow works well on cheeks as a highlighter but you have to use it alone or it will streak your bronzer/blush.

Yeah, I was considering using CK's Liquid Crystals but didnt know if they would work that well!

right after i shower, i put on clinique moisture surge and some eyecream.

i let it absorb then i use evian water sprey to wet my face a bit and i use bobbi brown oil free compact foundation in beige(3),,,

i apply it with a makeup artists (very soft/cushy)sponge while my face is still moist.. the trick is to PAT gently and quickly while your face is still moist. do NOT swipe.

i learned this sprey and pat technique when i had my makeup done last year... the makeup artist did this and it looked good/felt good as well.

that gives me the perfect sheer coverage that i want.. sometimes i use concealer under my eyes to lighten up the dark areas....

i even out my skintone but i dont try to cover everything.. i still have some acne but i think it looks better (and feels better) if i just even out the redness rather than trying to cover it completely.

then to the "glowing" skin part...
i used to use laura mercier, but since im running out, ive switched to a cream eyeshadow in shimmering beige/gold by la palette (a korean brand)...
i just use the same sponge to apply it on my face.. (this time, lightly swipe first, then pat, then swipe again)

this way it really doesnt look like you have makeup on... yet your skintone is even and your face really glows... and i think thats the whole point of "healthy looking makeup"... something that does NOT look like makeup.. (maybe-you-are-born-with-it type of makeup.. you know what i mean ;))

I was re-reading this thread some days ago and I tried the patting technique and I had an epiphany! I was wearing too much foundation because I smeared and blended it like crazy!

I am obsessed with minimal makeup and this advice has changed everything for me, because now I use less than HALF the amount of makeup and I finally look better!

Thanks a lot for the advice and big karma for cloud9!

I recently bought the Physicans Formula Multi Colored Higlighter powder, but it doesn't really seem to do anything for me. Maybe I'm using it wrong?? Has anyone tried this product or have any suggestions for using it?

i've just discovered MAC fix+ - it's a spray that you can use before makeup, or after to tone down a powdery look. i've also been using it with eyeshadows to apply them wet. i love it! i use a little on my foundation brush, then kevyn aucoin skin enhancer where i need coverage. then i just do a quick dust of mineral foundation (l'oreal works for me) and spritz each side of my face with the fix+. it melds the mineral powder into my skin and makes it look like skin, instead of powdery and covered. i love it!

I've tried a lot of different products and the best line I've found is revlon skinlights. I use the illuminating cream and the powder. They are amazing...

i use laura mercier's moisturzing tint in nude with a bit of nars orgasm on cheeks and mercier's stardust for highlighting! my boyfriend doesn't like makeup and he doesn't realize i'm wearing this-just compliments how fresh i look!

I just bought Laura Mercier tint in Nude yesterday, because I wanted this same effect...but...it's totally orange! I was wondering, thuyanat, if you could tell me about the colour of yours, and you skin tone because I swear that the tube I bought is not the same colour as the tester I tried...I wonder if I can get my money back...

Eek! I've read in a couple of places about the "orange" effect with LM's tint. I'm Asian with a fair complexion. I've been applying it lightly with my fingers..and it looks natural. It's not too much color (the tint) - just evens out the skin tone.

You should definitely try to return it. I'm sure if you let them know your concerns, there should be no problem in returning. Also, maybe go there with a fresh face and have them apply it on you?.. If it's still orangey - then don't buy it and perhaps exchange for the Stardust!.. This works with everything! Gives a luminous glow to clean or makeup-ed skin. Good luck!

Thanks for your reply thuyanat!
A make-up artist friend told me that LM is really good for paler skin tones, but this is most definitely Orange! Not a good look for me! It's annoying because I already have and love Armani LSF no.2 (I highly recommend this brand for the 'no make up' look)...I guess I was just in the mood to spend money! I'm going to try and sell it on to someone it suits better...

Would you mind telling me more about the stardust...how does it work, what's the texture? Sounds interesting.

Oh, and if anyone has any experience with returns to SpaceNK could they let me know if it would be possible to get a refund for my LM? It doesn't *look* as though I've used it...but it does seem to be a completely different colour from advertised. Thanks!

LM Stardust is a loose powder that is similiar to a light skin color but with a bit spark! It has an illuminating look similiar to a very light frost eyeshadow?..but not that exagerated. I just apply it (once) with a round brush: first on top of my blush, then forehead and nose, the rest just a quick sweep all over face. It's pretty subtle but definitely adds a bit of glow to any look..especially the natural look! It's important to blow the excess off otherwise you will look like a disco ball! hehe (of course not that exagerated, but you get the point)

good luck, again!

I recommend Bobbi Brown's Shimmerbrick Powder compact. It gives a subtle beautiful glow without making my skin look greasy or oily.

I lile Elizabeth Arden's 8 hour cream on the cheekbones and eyelids on a night out. Just a tiny bit though, to get a 'glow'. Either that, or Stila's All Over SHimmer.

That Radiant Look

I've been seeing a lot of these types of powders that you sweep over your face, in order to get a "radiant" look. I was just wondering if anyone has tried these (don't get them confused with bronzers or glitter powders, though), if they do make you look radiant & healthy, and if so, what does anyone recommend? Examples:

Laura Geller

Sephora's own line

Guerlain

Dior

(all from sephora.com)

Forgive me if something like this has already been posted. :flower: I searched, but did not seem to come up with anything.
