If you felt your heart warming a little while you watched the ad spot for Calvin Klein’s Eternity fragrance starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Liya Kebede, you’re not alone. Talk at last night’s dinner to celebrate the campaign’s launch circled around the sheer emotionality of the video—and the cleverness of the E. E. Cummings poetry projected on the event space’s brick walls, lowercase lettering and all.

The guests of honor, Gyllenhaal, Kebede, and Calvin Klein chief creative officer Raf Simons, all arrived promptly and were trailed by hoots from other famous faces like Helena Christensen, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Mario Sorrenti, and Kyle MacLachlan. This being an intimate, Eternity-scented evening with delicate floral displays and candles dotting the loft, guests weren’t up for any journalistic prodding. But if I had sprung to interrupt any conversation, it would be the in-depth one Raf Simons and Kyle MacLachlan were having as the night ended. I’d like to imagine that MacLachlan was spilling all the secrets of Twin Peaks: The Return, but you never know. Perhaps there’s another actor-fronted campaign in the works? All will be revealed at the next dinner, I suppose.
