Maison Martin Margiela at Pitti Immagine Uomo 69

Oh I dunno,nqth...patchwork quilts normally take months to complete...I can imagine the trousers took a couple weeks at the very least to finish. Depending on the hours a day he spent making them. And yes, all done by hand. There's no way a machine could do that.

I love the set-up, especially the string installation. Nice clothes, and the pared down, neutral palette is right, but the fur patchwork.....also can't see the clothes clearly in the pictures, only thing is, I know of few men who can actually wear white......

thank so you much, runner! i can't believe i was missing out this thread. mmm has never been far from my heart and to look at the pictures, it's just overwhelming. i wish these retrospective pieces are going for re-production. would love to buy some of them that i had left out in the past seasons.

I don't believe that making a pair of trousers take a month do do. They have only 6 months to make a collection from scratch, Scott:-P

^no,I said it probably only took a couple weeks to complete.

Zazie,I think I could only do the coats and the fur jacket in white. It'd definitely have to mixed with darker shades or colours for me to really feel comfortable.

^ I just exagerated a bit:-)

here is the video:

You just have to copy the link and open it in a video player.

Thanks ErichB who found the videos for the Milan show (so I saw MMM there, too)

Faust, I meant "time therefor money":-P

hmmm definitely dosent appeal to me that well.... but i suppose he has his clientelle... i still dont like the fact that MMM is owned by Diesel..
IMHO its nothing to rave about.. or maybe i have to see them(the garments in person) but its not me..

Does anyone know how much this t-shirt with the badge/stars is going for?

I used to own it when it was a part of a set of 3 shirts Margiela sold in S/S 2001 as part of the 0/10 line for around $270. The other two were cool as well- one had a giant white "X" in the middle of a black square, and the other said "Je suis pour" in a script font. They were all made with his photo-print technique, where the print continued on to the neckline and the inside of thr garment. Sadly I needed money and sold them all on eBay years ago... :(

Scott, nqth, will you post pictures? Would be interesting to see how you'd style it.
Men in white will either be *really* gorgeous or eeky, like a nasty wedding.

Me too, I have *some* reservations, it's missing the more complex concepts, cuts and ideas in his women's wear, but I'm so partial to MM, I'm trying to see the best side of this collection and sell it to myself, but deep down, I actually have a lot of questions.

Do you mean in white in general or MMM white ? I sometimes wear loose, thin cotton white trouser, white T and any sneakers in summer. Nothing gorgeous nor wedding:-)

Sorry for OT:-)

Yes, summer I get...I've seen men in white pants and shirts with a dash of bright colour or geometric patterns even, and looking rather good and very much A Space Odyssey...but this is fall/winter??

I worry too much about dirty snow.

OK this may sound a little weird, but i dont understand the way the tag he uses on his clothing works. What does the numbers mean? what does the circled number mean?? Can someone please explain?
