Makeup counter pet peeves

I don't know if this has already been said- but I had a makeup sales associate talk to me about products while she was putting makeup on in a mirror not even looking at me! I wanted to shout "HELLO!!!! Put the lipgloss down!!" Ridiculousness...

Wow, that is just above and beyond rude (not to mention weird!)

Once at this clothes and beauty fair, I was innocently walking past when this (rather big) SA grabbed me and forcefully put tacky-looking silver glitter eye shadow on me even when I kept going "no no no"..she kept hushing me and saying " it's like mine! it's nice! see?" even though I was shaking my head.

She looked like she was going to beat me up when I ran away as soon as she loosened her grip....

I've had a few bad experiences, but it seems like you all have had the worst!!

I agree with everything that's already been said. Especially not getting samples when I've spent well over $200 in purchases at your counter. I spend money (thereby giving YOU a commision and you can't give me a few samples?!)

Another thing I just can't stand is when the SA's just try to push you into buying things. I never purchase anything at a make up counter, unless I have read reviews and talked to other people about the products. Which means that most of the time, I go intending to browse and not purchase, and the SA's just try to sell me things. Sometimes I want to scream at them and say, I know I'm not going to buy anything, just let me look in peace.

I hate it when the MUA puts the wrong colour foundation etc on you, but rather than admitting that this is the wrong shade for you and suggesting another, they insist that they are right and that it looks amazing. NO, the only thing that is amazing is that my skin has such a close resemblance to an Ompa Loompa due to your crappy makeup-artistry (not a word, I know!)

^excactly. I hate it when they suggest a colour and you end up buying it, then when you get home you are orange and it is completly the wrong shade! and then it's hard to take back if you can at all...

I think I read something about how oily skin oxidizes cheap makeup & turns it orange?? I forget the details, but I remember it happening to me with Cover Girl many years ago. Thanks to the three words above, I haven't had the problem in a long, long time

Maybe, cover girl's foundation is normally orange anyway. Ive applied to my hand its bright-fake-bake orange, even the palest shade..

i went to there, twice, and i get completely different result (first time is Y/O and the second time is B/R)
both time i didnt bought anything (and the 2nd time the sales lady tried to kill me, and i think i have some how deserved it) and i feel kinda doomed in terms of foundation

not to mention one time a sephora lady make me look like an orange but putting on a reall golden foundation and tons of bronzer on me... grrr...

We have a lady that comes in and puts on about 10 different lotions. She pulls up her pants legs and lotions her legs, she lotions under her shirt around her back, stomach and boobs.

She sprays about 5 different fragrances on and then leaves. Its so disgusting to watch.


We also have a lady that comes in and does her full face of makeup, puts on lotion, sprays fragrance and then does her hair --- all with our products. It's one thing to come in and try out stuff...but she knows where everything is, and always uses the same color and comes in about two times a week -- and NEVER buys anything.

mayb we should have a store like this: have fragrance and make up and every thing, and u can play with them, do the whole make up and whatever you want with it. the only thing is that you have to pay before you go in, like $1 a pop.
