i think you might have a chance if you got more toned. i think you're cute. besides -- if hedi slimane uses those not so hot anorexic looking models in his shows -- us normal people should have a chance lol.

seriously -- the only reason why i think they could've been chose for the show was that they were really skinny, had a nice defined jaw line and had long hair. cuz i remeber looking at some pics and one of the guys had looked like he had a lazy eye! oh, but he had the jawline. troll looking -- but he had the jawline lol.

Well... from what I've seen about model profiles from FashionTV... 1,85 seems to be the height ... but that'll be for catwalk!
You have to keep in mind that for editorials/photo shoots height's not such a big deal!
Height is such a big deal for edits and photoshoots, its just it'll be more likely that they will measure you at show castings, unlike editorial castings.

Height is important it doesn't matter what part of modeling you are trying to persue. But, if the agency sees something in you, they will sign you. [/b][/quote]
Tks for the correction, Tay! :P
Great to have some advice from someone who lives the model life!

i'm so excited i know the Todd, the new model guy on abercrombie.com, he's my friends cousin. he's like 5"11", i met him and i'm just guessing that by looks. he's also getting an ad campaign for versace, so be on the lookout for him! lol

OMG I was in Abercrombie today ( don't ask why ), and I almost fall on my butt when I see the huge poster right on your face when you enter the store... I wanted to run away with it, but sadly my bag is not that big

See what I mean, even as I read the responses to this thread, it's become even more apparent that a great deal of ambiguity exists when it comes to the height requirement. Some say I could work at 5'10", some say I couldn't. I guess it's just one of those things that comes down to a person's overall look, which includes (but is not limited to) a person's height, bone structure, body, skin tone, personality, etc. It seems that when it comes to modeling, nothing is set in stone. And is Travis Fimmel really 5'10"? I would have never guessed.

Sean, of course "whether or not you work is a different story". A top agency would have never signed in you the first place if they didn't honestly believe you would work.

Believe it or not, there are models that are 5'8 that work more than their 5'10 counterparts! There aren't any set "rules" in this business.

i hear u tay

haha yep. i've met him though...and my friend totally embarassed me and said 'she has you on her computer wallpaper!' i was like 'only cause you told me to' haha i was soo embarassed, but he just laughed

how tall is too tall? and is age as important for men? my b/f is 22 and 6'3-4"ish i think. I've always told him to get into modeling but i wonder if its too late/hes too tall? he has a baby face..

I'm not sure what the exact cut-off point is, but I'm sure your b/f would have a much better chance at 6'3" than I would at 5'10". Based on reading this board, the only way to know for sure is to attend an open call or send in a couple of snapshots. Anything else would be pure speculation.

From my experience, at least 5'10". Although, Kate Moss is only 5'8", so I guess it just depends on the model. But, I think average runway models are around 5'10"-6'0".

Its 6'0-6'2....IF you are amazing, you can get away with a couple inches.

OH WAIT! I was thinking men! Cause I'm a man (er..or boy). For women its usually 5'9 to 6'0...but again IF (underline) you are absolutely amazing there are those couple of inches exceptions.

Why are you guys talking about Female models, the poster ask about MALE models

Oh I guess I was right the first time! I didn't read the post the second time I opened it...and when I read what everyone else said, I thought OH CRAP!.OK FOR MALE MODELS ITS 6'0-6'2 with those "amazingness" exceptions. But thats not too likely.
