That's true. Here's how he puts it in NYT:

''But Mr. Blahnik said he cannot account for the tastes of his customers, especially given the general direction of footwear design. He is particularly appalled by the popularity of platforms.
“I’ve never seen such ugly shoes in my life,” he said. “I thought they were démodé in the 1980s. They are getting absolutely funkier and horrid now. I don’t do shoes for fashion, really. I do what I want to do.” ''

I personally agree with him and that's why I like his shoes so much.

Well, I like platforms... But I really respect how he sticks to his point of view and doesn't make them although everybody else do.

I have always been wondering why the arches are so much less curved compaired to his drawings. Maybe they can't be that curved but if they were a little more rounded they would be far more comfortable and imo more appealing.
