Marc By Marc Jacobs S/S 04 New York

Spacemiu*,I wouldn't be surprised though if it were direct. Not making any accusations but in those last photos you posted, the third photo on top and fifth photo on bottom....don't you think those graphics/motifs look awfully familiar of Walter's 'aestheticterrorists' line? Those freakish Tim Burton-style faces have become a trademark for him.

those second sets of pics are the same as first set...please post REMAINDER of show, 27 looks??

i have more deconstruction & look remarks still.

many thanks

fun stuff!

I looove old school sweaters, etc.

I don't like it. Marc has really disappointed me this season. I'm really tired of the Marc line, especially. I know he's found a great formula and that it sells incredibly well, but it just gets really boring after awhile. It's like the same exact idea but in different colors and materials for the corresponding season.

New York has been a huge disappointment. But nothing's new there. I can't wait for Prada, Vuitton, Dries, Junya, and Hermes.
You said it all. :flower:

i dont judge the marc line to harshly....for the fact its ment for
25 yrs and under. the teens that buy this line are pretty oblivous to the refrences and the twenty somethings that buy , are retro lovers. everyone else, im surprised if they were to even pay attention to it. a thirty yr old would look ridiclous in this line.

i kind of like this collection. esp. like the graphic converse like shoes.its whimsical and fun. nothing serious, just fun clothes.

The roller derby comment is right on. There are a few pieces I like, but its too trendy high school feeling.

... some pieces a-l-o-n-e are really-really-good .... and I'm one of the few who doesn't go for the "We  Marc Jacobs" ...

I love this s/s collection..that was a lot of clothes-eye-candy.
although I would rather get this stuff for a lot less @ a thrift store, but I might get a few hard-too find things from this.

I'm not too sure what I think about this collection. Some pieces are very nice, but it all looks like stuff you could find at a thriftshop or H&M.

this doesnt look so different from urban fashion i ve seen b4!

out of all the Marc collections, this one looks the youngest. Being a devote MJ fan, Im afraid this collection falls a bit short of Marc. It looks like a frickin FORNARINA collection.

Took me a while to weigh in my opinion, but I understand this collection better now that I've seen October 2003 US Vogue's segment on the "dauntless eccentric". How terrific that we Americans have a designer that can mimic British eccentricities in dress so well..

i agree, with Lilacwine, absolutely nothing new there and its a shame because i always count on Mark for cool teen wear trends.
Apart from a very few pieces, this is an all over the place collection of things already in the shops, apart from the boots, I can't see why we should wait for next winter to adopt this look.

i liked his colour combinations though :flower:

I like a few pieces here and there by themselves..but the way he put everything together...

He sticks to what he does best, as usual - incredibly formulaic as others have pointed out. Very good styling I think, the way the whole look is put together - not that I'd actually walk out of the house wearing that, but it works for a show. But individually the pieces aren't very exciting or are something I'd covet - like some others have said, you can get it in chainstores or thrift stores.

I thought the men's line was great, but the women's a little fashion trag for my liking.

i liked it but it's way too much of street fashion - i agree ignitioned- u really can find some pieces from a thrift store..

this is a little off topic, but i just got this bag at a department store in japan...

and i wanted your opinion.

i think this might be from this season... maybe last season of Marc by MJ.

tell me how you think
