Marc Jacobs S/S 2007: Dakota Fanning by Juergen Teller

wow i love this idea!! i usually don't pay much attention to ads or anything, they never catch my eye but this does!! it is just so creative and you can see the clothes from a totally different perspective!

i think this is TERRIBLE marketing strategy!...:ermm:

I agree. Not that anyone takes Jurgen's adds for Marc serious anymore. It was a really good pairing in the begining, but at this point it has become a complete caricature of hipsterdom. Either way, if you wanted to do the whole "little girl in her moms closet" look there are surely girlish adults he could have picked that would have made the look much more stylish and appropriate.

It's cute...at least it's not a sisley campaign with Terry Richardson...oh brother

i think it's perfectly fine. it's a good way to get one's attention. Marc has always been on the whimsical and quirky side.

If they're going for adults to buy the clothing, why on earth would they put a 12 year old into the campaign? Very not smart.

Dakota is a cute kid, but definitely not a right model for womens wear. The pix are lovely, but that's all.

couldn't agree more

I agree with just about everything everyones has said, maybe I just don't know what to think about this

Eh, people are still going to buy Marc Jacobs because it is Marc Jacobs regardless if there's a 12 year old girl in the ad or a supermodel.

interesting indeed! i'm looking forward to seeing this in mags.....

This is really strange. When you're trying to promote womenswear, why would you put it on a little girl?

I quite like this campaign. It's really cute and funny.

Although it's true that people will still buy Marc's clothes regardless of who models them... I was just under the impression that the Fashion industry was going to try to find a way to more appropriately market women's clothing. Due to complaints about the models being too thin, and average women not fitting into those sizes. So this seems like a step in the opposite direction? Hahaha.

Not sure how I feel about it, but I still adore Marc and his clothing. So... does it matter, really? Who knows.
