The color is called elephant and it has really pretty metallic trim and handles. The long chain is gold with metallic silver leather. It's v. pretty...if the metallic rubs off I'll cry!

Is this "elephant" color similar to "mouse (or mousse?)" color?

i saw a girl with a stam on yesterday, and it looked so good on her. i think because it was all broken in. so now i have caught the stam bug (yes, i know, a year or two too late).

It's never too late to buy stam imo I also bought mine a little later when everybody else already had one.

i'm thinking of getting one on ebay. my question is, what color do you think is the most versatile one? i'm thinking a neutral one like ivory, black, putty, taupe.

Those are all good colors. I have one in mouse and I think it's pretty versatile as well. It's between grey and light brown.

Those are all good colors. I have one in mouse and I think it's pretty versatile as well. It's between grey and light brown.

It is a limited edition and is $1800, but with tax I paid about $1920.

The elephant color is more of a true gray and darker than the mouse color. Elephant doesn't have the brown that the mouse color has - it's actually a touch lighter than the color of an elephant.

it looks like a blue-grey color, and really offsets that silver wonderfully....i just hope the metalic wears well.

Quimby i don't think it's ever too late (though we're probably biased on here). I think it's very chic and a classic, rather than a faddish IT bag.
I have a putty and it does really go with everything, but i think that would be almost impossible to find now. Otherwise perhaps black or a taupe colour? But just try and avoid a fake if you can. They're rife on ebay and very tacky in my opinion.

I have to say, I think it's aged pretty well. It's still a very eye-catching bag, but I think the way I saw it worn (on the shoulder without the chain), it can be more down to earth as well.

hmmm...really cant tell much from those pics. she's mixng stock photo's with a few she took i assume...before BIN it, i'd ask for a pic of the nameplate on the inside and of the marc jacobs engraving on the kisslock.

Boots, judging from those pics it does not look much different from my little stam but i'd definitely ask for better pics of the zipper heads and the underside of the zipper heads where it says riri and a number. You can usually tell be looking at those.

Congratulations GG! I wasn't a fan of the elastic bags on me when i saw them in Tokyo (partly because i'm not very precious about my bags and i could just see the elastic wearing out and snapping or something), but it will look so great on you. You have to post pics wearing it when it arrives!!

my stams have gone into hibernation, because i swear they've added to my back problems
but i was in saks' outlet today, and i found the little stam in the navy/pink combo (with the python...i don't know what the actual style name is..?) i got it for about 70% off..
i KNOW it's not 'classic' at all, maybe a bit tacky, to some...but 1, we're talkin about the girl who has a green velvet/yellow patent/leopard print dior gambler, LOL and 2, it was so cheap, and i've wanted a little one since the first season, i couldn't say no!!

i might post pictures later? (esp since i can't find ANY pics of it online..)

please post pics! I don't think i've ever seen that color combo before.

I proudly wore my mouse stam out today and noticed a few jealous glances It is definitely heavy especially with all the stuff that I carry around with me all the time like umbrella etc. but I've also very much gotten used to the weight by now. I guess I would miss something otherwise.

Just bought this patchwork stam for $399 from NR. I can't believe it. There's nothing wrong with the bag except a scratch on the leather close to the chain. And this bag is still up on nordstrom.com for $1550.
