I totally know this thread is devoted to the stam, but I was wondering what you guys think of the mayfair? Looks great in pictures, but curious to know what the leather is like in real life...

Ooh, so excited! Finally scored a black baby stam on ebay: 270175726062 (really wanted a patchwork, but couldn't find one). I'm praying it's the real deal! Any second opinions based on the pics?

Boots, congrats! I know you've been looking for baby stam for quite some time. It is kinda hard to see the details on those pics so please post a couple more as soon as you get it. I would have to see the zipper head to be sure but I think it looks alright.

hey boots, i think your probably okay....i've had this on my watch list and it's been relisted and relsited again and again. the stams have been selling for so low because of the ebay market, i think she got frustrated no one was bidding on her bag. now, a lot of the baby stams were picked up from outlets and on sale, and thus they're selling for lower than they were selling. i think the price was a bit high for it, but it's more than likely the real deal. but post pics when you get it of the sides of the zipper pulls, the metal plaque, etc...

Jelly - I haven't been following the stam recently so I don't know about prices - but - I have a black baby stam from the first season and I LOVE it!!

Me too!! It's no secret that MJ would love to take over the reigns at Chanel once Karl decides to step down - and given what I've seen of the new S/S Chanel bags, I'd say the time has come!

i think the 'trend' has died down and that, combined with the crappy state of ebay sales and the ecomony right now, i think people are not making big purchases. I've noticed LV prices dropping a bit too....not because they aren't still fabulous bags, but because they're not 'it' right now and also because i think people are being careful as to what they spend their $$ on...

jun--that's a good observation plus there seem to be a bunch "it" bags vying for the same market.

jan--that's really pretty--love the color, so versatile. i was thinking of the baby stam for night. when do you carry it mostly? OT--i love the bal envelope clutch but like you, i don't want to limit a bag just for night.

Jelly - I use my baby stam primarily at night - it's a great bag for that and it carries more than alot of night bags do - which makes it an okay day bag too - when you don't want to schlepp around something huge. BTW - returned the Bal. Jaune clutch - think I'm going to try to get a first.

I know, i had it on my watch list for ages too then finally went for it (after she dropped the price a bit to $450). Still, it's a pretty good deal for a near-new stam, and i couldn't find anything else. If i ever do find a black baby patchwork, i'll get that and sell this one i think.
Hopefully it's all ok. I'll compare it to my putty and post some more photos. What season would it be from with the cream canvas lining (i know it can't be one of the earliest lines, which all had the burgundy suede).

im thinking either resort or spring 06...i think that's right...my stam knowledge is dusty.

jun, you're probably right. my chestnut was from the resort 06 line if i remember correctly.

And does yours have that cream canvas lining Velony? I don't think it's Sping 06 because my putty was from spring/summer 06/07 if i remember correctly, and it has the blue suede lining.

i actually think putty (and perhaps cream) were the only colors with the blue suede lining ...any other colors had the cream twill...if i recollect correctly
