Sandra, I only have Stellas with the leather straps (I do have Stams that have a chain strap, but I must admit that I mostly carry those by the leather handles). I was afraid that the Stella with the chain straps just wouldn't be practical. It is a big, roomy bag and you should be able to carry quite a bit in it without having to worry about it being difficult to wear. I guess I would return it it I wasn't able to carry it comfortably!

I did return the stella. It was so difficult to carry, I had to. I thought the bag was beautiful to look at but horrible to use. I just bought the stam today so i am going to put my belongings in and see how it feels.

Sandra, I'm sorry about the Stella. Honestly, I think the regular stella with the leather straps are just about perfect, the chain strap on that bag didn't make any design sense at all!

i agree with you both, lduv143 and mammab...the stella bag may be a bit heavy too. however, i think it is not as heavy as the paddington. i'm looking for a large bag that i can put lots of things in thats not too heavy... there's plenty of bags made of cloth or microfiber, but i'm looking for something in leather... any suggestions?

Bottega veneta bags are very light but sturdy. I have a tan intrecciato hobo and I am very happy about it.

The classic Stella is one Marc design that needs to come back. I love the Quilted Stam but I miss the original Stellas. They're absolutely beautiful classic bags. Not to mention huge which I love and they came in great colors. I still want one with the brass hardware after all these years

Luxx, you might be able to find a white stella with brass hardware (the limited edition reissue of the original design) on either Neiman Marcus' or BergdorfGoodman's websites, they were there recently.

Eeep! Just broke my bag break! I am sooooooo beyond bad but there was an authentic Stella on eBay with the brass hardware in Butterscotch and I have been hunting high and low for a yellow bag. Eee!! I just couldn't resist at all. I have no willpower sometimes but either way eee!!! I can't wait until it comes

Oh wow she's kickin' it old school! I love that she's brought out her Stella. Its kind of funny, she could (and does) have any bag in the world and she brings out a bag like the Stella that has been around for awhile and isn't an it bag. Very cool, it looks great on her too.

i was off of saks today, and saw the most beautiful butterscotch original stella....i think it's probably what you have luxx! BEAUTIFUL!!!! if anyone wants it, the condition is amazing! it's at the off of saks in the camarillo premium outlet center, camarillo california. sorry, im at school so i dont know the phone #......hope someone here gets it....the price was $549 i believe.
