She's such a Calvin Klein girl. Really great styling at the show. I would like to see her wear either Klein or Prada at the Oscars.
Little interview from NY Times:
At the Calvin Klein Collection show on Thursday, there was Margot Robbie, the Hollywood siren — so voluptuously gorgeous that when she appeared as herself in “The Big Short,” she was shown sipping Champagne in a bubble bath — demurely attired in a coat, trousers and turtleneck sweater. (By Calvin Klein Collection, naturally.)
That, for Ms. Robbie, passes for business casual. She is in New York promoting “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot,” her new film with Tina Fey, and Calvin Klein was to be her only New York Fashion Week show between press junkets.
“I’m really grateful I have the opportunity to pop in and see a show and go back to work again,” Ms. Robbie said before the show. Press junkets, she explained, are work, often more than actually making the movies they promote, as well as constant fashion opportunities. So although she finds the fashion world overwhelming, the occasional show is a fine place to look for things to wear. Not least to the Academy Awards Feb. 28, where she will be among the presenters.
What are the press tours like? They seem to require endless clothes.
The press tours end up having tons and tons of outfits. The actual press is far more exhausting than the filming, which is ironic. A junket’s 300 interviews back to back for seven hours straight. It gets a bit repetitive . You start going a bit crazy. The key to junkets is wearing something comfortable. This is actually a perfect junket outfit. It’s comfortable, it’s easy.
Are you thinking of Oscar dressing?
Yes: everything, really. It’s nonstop press between now and August. I’ve got three movies coming out: “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot,” then “The Legend of Tarzan” and then “Suicide Squad.”
Do you get a holiday after that? Will you take August off?
No, I’ll probably be working after that. But I had a holiday at the end of last year, so I’m fine. It took two years to get that time off, so it’ll probably be another couple of years before I get time off again.
Do you get to shop for yourself anymore, or is it all wheeled in to you on racks by stylists?
I do get to choose, I just get narrowed-down choices. That’s a lot easier and better time management, I suppose.
Do you miss the days when you could duck into Barneys or Saks without attracting notice?
I still go shopping. I don’t actually shop that much, anyway. I kind of do my shopping when I go home to Australia, and then I wear those outfits for the year. When I’m at work, someone’s dressing me. When I’m doing press, someone’s dressing me.
Easy enough.
They’re like costumes. It works for me. I like thinking of it as putting on a costume. It makes the whole idea less overwhelming.
