Martin Margiela - Designer

Yep this is Rosso. Margiela doesn't look like that mix between a cow-boy and Richard Branson. He used to be handsome, at least when he was young (because no photos are avaible since). Good luck if you want to find one, but some old belgie fashion books have it.

That's so weird! Wouldnt some photographers catch him at his own show? Can you post a picture? Thanks

Does he even assist to his own shows  ? Anyway I don't believe he will ever do a public appearance, that's the only case where the man transforms himself his business into a maison, before his death.
Moreover, there were even rumours that he would no longer design anything (since Diesel's buying) but I prefer not to believe it, since the last two collections were stunning.
I don't have the photo, but maybe we have a nice belgie here who has it.

i need to see some picture from the stores..this at mmm.com i sow.
the site is very deleuzian,,
row and bottom.
marx engels..
the base and super..position...

very close to class realism art and posters.

i even suspect that he is doing art..not fashion.

because for being fash designer you need to integrate things that are outsyde of the fabric and cut..time,air..
music,films,books,etc.
margiela got a concret stile..cement..every year variation on one and same..this is not a seasonal impact..
he is on opposite fashion position..
the style to push the outside,superposition,etc..
i like very much him..but he is just the opposite cretiveness of those that hedi slimane a nicolas ghsquere and raf and the rest of this chain chr.baley, john ray, stewart stockdale .

SO PLEASE CAN YOU GIVE ME SOME VIEWS to the store interior.
who made this house in Japan!
Aoyama? i think isn't aoyama.

do you know more about the store in paris..
please, les francais quid us inside the store, please!

@ Alliecat: :lol::lol::lol: :flower:

@ Verkeerd: No I don't believe so. If so, then he has changed a lot

Yes, and why not Blavastky, Foucault (Leon and Michel), Kundera, Kierkegaard, Villiers de l'Isle-Adam, Mann, Rasputin, Saccas, Moreau, and, last but not least, Bailey (Alice, not Christopher)

^yeah,i think that's patrick scallon, who handles the PR end and showroom presentations.

Yes, I remember seeing that drawing, Scott! I think this might be right...:woot:

^ you're welcome, you guys. so glad you remember that as well laika because i was beginning to feel like everybody wasn't believing me about that image  but this is truly funny because i only stumbled upon this image looking for other things.....and there he was to my excitment. i wonder if this was a visit to barcelona(as i think it said was where it was taken)to scout spaces for an upcoming barcelona location of his boutique? or just a real interest in emerging talents? or because diesel was part of the trade show? anyway...

it's not to say that i am nor are we collectively for that matter obsessed with the faces of the personalities that design....just curiosity on my part particularly. nothing superficial...hehe

can someone confirm if maison martin margiela is going to open a new flagship at omotesando in tokyo?

i dont know why but it makes me sad to hear this news (if it is true).

doesnt mm only have their stores at relatively obscure places, be it belgium, paris, hong kong or even tokyo.
somehow i am not quite liking how the japanese run mm, with all the collaboration with mainstream magazines, giving away freebies and what nots.
it ll be shocking to see mm having a store next to gucci and louis vuitton.
but mm has a super big customer base in tokyo so i guess they have the say, and then there is diesel the big shareholder.
