It's insulting because the whole idea of having someone to advertise a product is to state that it's trustworthy. So how can this be possible if one of the girls advertising had just gone through an anorexia treatment? Just my two cents.

wasn't the clinic she went to for substance abuse...not for eating disorders?

curiouser and curiouser... it seems they started admitting to the eating disorder claims after news got out the rehab place doesn't treat eating disorders.......
aaanyway...perhaps mcdonalds is just cashing in on all the media attention they've been getting recently.....or communicate the message...'hey these rich girls eat mcdonalds... you should too'

Whats the big deal? They are famous and of course they are going to advertise McDonalds to make spare cash. All famous people do it.

So now people who make mistakes are unforgivable ... I'm appaled!

It doesnt bother me that the Olsens are doing McDonalds .. after all ... they spent a sh*tload of cash in their brand new apartment (or vomitorium, as Gawker labeled it), so they want some back to hit the billionaires mark!

On the other hand, I wouldnt have picked MK & A, I'd rather have casted Anna Nicole Smith ..she lost a LOT of weight and has appeal for a vast audience!

it is in the french part of the website, and its for the kids menu...and i think it may be old, cos they are both blonde. its not like they are holding burgers, its almost like its selling the kids toy with the mc happy meal! its not as bad as it looks IMHO.

I don't understand why these young teen actors would endorse McDonald's... I mean, maybe Timberlake needed the money, but the twins? C'mon, they shouldn't have to endorse ANYTHING...

are you sure they're doing McDonald's?? this sounds like some tabloid gossip to me for several reasons:

a) MK doing fast food after her very much publicized-anorexia (or coke addiction, which is what i think it was...) seems like a horrible move for her-- opening the door for lots of criticsm and scrutiny regarding the anorexia

B) would mcdonald's WANT someone who has (had) an eating disorder promoting their restaurant? this is someone who's afraid of food and yet she's promoting food?? it's the irony of ironies

c) it's mcdonald's. the olsens have never seemed to advertise anything other than their own products, why would they start now with the lowest of the low-- fast food, and mcdonald's on top of that. they certainly dont need the money... even I wouldn't advertise mcdonald's, and i'm almost too poor to eat there

any evidence that this is a truth and not just a fun little gossip piece would be appreciated

I was going to answer that, but then I saw hotpinky's post and I'm quoting it:

Images of their new fast food campaign can be found at Mcdonalds.com.

No, they can't.

The closest thing I found was a MaryKate and Ashley happy meal toy on Mcdonalds.fr.

But you can be assured, if I find out this is true, McDonalds and MK&A are both getting letters.

I'm sorry but how many people who advertise for McDonalds do you think actually eat McDonalds - i think that they'd have better food to spend their money on.

However, i think that if this is a new campaign it'd be a bad move for Mary-Kate and Ashley, but it may be old and have just surface or could just be speculation  .

I really doubt McDonalds would hire them for a campaign at this point in time - but whether they actually have or not i don't know.

you really believe that she's on cocaine?

yes shes on cocaine! the rehab she walked out of was for substance abuse. Its like people want to believe what they want(even when all the proof is there).

I also think its sad the way they are gettin the little kids into mcdonalds. Its another person they are bringing into eating bad. They dont care about peoples health and certainly not little kids. Its ridiculous.

The workload at NYU is quite rigorous; I wonder how they manage to still go out and party all the time.

I don't think they've actually started yet, have they?

But then again, I know plenty of people who go to rigorous schools (Georgetown, Yale, Harvard, Stanford) and all these people go to parties. It's not unknown - it's not as if exceptional universities are devoid of parties, so obviously it's just an arrangement of time and priorities, IMO. :)

I doubt that it's anymore than my uni (UCL) and in your first year i think it's completely easy to get away with it. I swear to God i hardly did any work during the year but I crammed it all at the end and I got through into the second year really well. I think in their second year they might start working a bit more.

I'm a few years Mary-Kate's junior and I've had a longer relationship. :ninja:

If they were truly in love they wouldn't have broken up.

Think so and same here, i'm 19 and i'm with my b-f for 4 years.
