unfortunate it came to this...she was pretty and really really small already...

But I'm sort of pissed at all of the news channels and magazines for reporting this. I'm quite sure the family wanted to keep this private. Though they are of a great interest to the public, I don't think this is something that should be reported on... it's not right. I was just at the CNN website. Under top stories, they reported on a hostage beheading, the Peterson case, and Mary Kate's eating disorder. That's screwed up.

because they're so short it's not uncommon for someone to be under 100 pounds but what gets sickly?

good luck to her... it is so sad. but nice to hear of someone actually confronting their eating disorder in the public eye.

Yes, the jeans are baggy, but it looks to me like that was done on purpose (wearing the baggy jeans to hide her size)

She is obviously sickly skinny - I saw a patient today who was only 77lbs - clothed the patient looked very much like MK in body size.

I just thought I'd add my two cents since I have a twin who looks just like me and we have the exact measurements as the olsons, seriously. We are very petite and nobody else in our family is as thin or as short as us. We've always been accused of having an eating disorder because we are extremely small. It is very hurtful. i don't think i'm fat and I know I don't want to be any thinner. I hope this whole thing with the olsons is just a phase and people will understand that they are small because they are like my twin and I and had to share proportions.

I can understand and see how some people are very small, but with Mary-Kate, she's not that small. She used to have some meat on her bone. She looked alot better before and I hope she won't let weight be such a big issue with her.

She doesn't look right--she so obviously has a disorder. But Lara Flynn Boyle, I used to think she was beautiful...now she's practically emaciated.

I think this sort of publicity is the price you have to pay for being (or wanting to be) a celebrity. Obviously the Olsens want to be a part of Hollywood and they've made what seems like a million little movies, a clothing line, make-up line, ect. so it's to be expected that this kind of news (like J. Lo's wedding, Colin Powell's surgery, Rush Limbaugh's drug addiction) would be noteworthy.
Plus the Olsen's are kind of like 'America's little darlings' so people want to know if there is trouble in Olsen-land. If CNN doesn't report on it, they might be considered 'out-of-touch'

I have heard girls in the past talk about Ashley being the "prettier one" of the two. I hope that isn't part of what brought this on. very sad

u know wut, that could have bought that on.....
I have a twin sis and I do think shes prettier then me although we look so much alike.... it does make me a lil insecure sometimes

she is very short....

Ashley was at Gap at the Grove mall once and passed and she was up to my shoulder....and I'm not very tall either...

Still, you can see that she looks a lot skinnier than Ashley does..

I feel really bad for her and wish her the best. You know a few years back they both looked equally beautiful to me, but recently I started seeing Ashley as being prettier b/c Mary Kate just started to look different to me. Now I know why.
