Matthieu Blazy - Designer, Creative Director of Chanel

Why are people interpreting not agreeing with an opinion as trying to quiet people? I’ve never noticed or felt that on TFS. Everyone is free to disagree with my opinion. I don’t care. I just feel exhausted while seeing the same, boring, opinions over and over again.

If anything, it seems like having a not a negative opinion about this appointment is the controversial one, so I’m not understanding why people are feeling silenced. Okay, Blazy will be garbage and will make us wish Virginie was still there. He’ll flop in a few years and they’ll hire Hedi, Galliano, Jacobs, Choupette, etc. and all will be right. Is that better?

Of course there has always been nostalgia, but at this point it’s carbon copy. Not an intelligent or fun reinterpretation of the past.

This is what makes me laugh when people put her down for her experience at Unilever... people who work for those multinational conglomerates are RUTHLESS. We're lucky they didn't hire someone from Nestle! For example, if you own a source of clean, fresh water, while the city has lead in pipes and the citizens can't drink clean water OR steal water from public land OR a whole host of unethical things... and you just shrug and say "sorry!," you can put any creative director in their place.
I don't find her that scary. She seems like she loves to speak about annoying corporate platitudes but not much, hardly the demon tfs is losing sleep for.

I bet money that Bruno can make her dance his dance in seconds. :innocent:

People give that woman too much credit lol.
The woman is probably more busy working with Alain Weirthemer than thinking about Pavlovsky.

The irony is that she is the CEO, yes, but Chanel (Alain and Gerard) has continued to reorganize their corporate structure with a bunch of French people that she probably know nothing about.

Alain Weirthemer was probably fed up of being a CEO as it probably leaves less time to care about horses (lol) and others activities. She is over there in London.

Btw, just for the thought of it, I enjoy the idea that they probably met with Phoebe even though she wasn’t the choice.

Karl had lots of roasting in general fashion circles when he was alive for his work at Chanel and Fendi, then VV replaced him at Chanel and made people miss those KL days.

Blazy will have the same roasting if not critics, as said before Chanel is something else in everyone's mind.

We people forget that "feelings are not guides to reality"

It took me a while to realise this was serious.
The "I'm having a beer/ let me take a picture", the choosing fabrics in the kitchen, the coming out of the toilet with the rust inspiration... I thought it was a parody 🤣
Raf on film interviews and written ones always gives off a pick me girl energy, he would pass of for more intelligent if he just never spoke about his job.

I loved his Dior and went even to the Cinema to see "Dior et moi" twice 🤭 but already in his interview with Miuccia at System Magazine his insistence on the new generation (obviously Demna) ripping him off was not superelegant.
You could almost feel some sort of jealousy between the lines...

Blazy also cooked up the whole situation around Lee. Blazy ws the one who reported him for his "bad" behavior. Blazy is a Salieri to Daniel Lee's Mozart ;-)

I know this info as well, and he was doing it for a while…. I wasn’t sure people knew this!!
I stop caring about this thread after the CD anouncement, but you both bring me back to the thread!

If we do the timeline correctly, Mathieu Blazy's contract with BV was due to end around Nov. 15th 2024 at BV (classic 3 years contract with a 6 months notice), meaning he should have given his notice prior May 15th. And Virginie Viard left suddenly on June 6th (during the night of the 5th to the 6th precisely).
Is there a possibility than Blazy's departure from BV has something to do with Viard's exit 3 weeks later, or am I a cynical conspirationnist nutjob who have seen too many dirty tricks and does not believe in coincidences anymore ?
So Viard knew at that time she would be replaced and was not happy about it. It is still fun to speculate her sudden departure.

The only scene I can still remember after many years.
