Matthieu Blazy - Designer, Creative Director of Chanel

It was a robotic and lifeless looking factory showing how their bags are made but the way the article was titled: "Inside the Factory that makes $10,000 bags". Of course this recent post omits the machine stitching:

Blazy is probably a really nice guy and all, but I hope when dealing with Bruno/Lena he has the guts to tell them when moves like this are not a good look. I fear they hired a yes-man though

Of course they're Machine stitched...there would be no way a single bag would pass QC inspection if it was Hand done on the amount they're producing....Not like Hermes making a bag a week or whatever. How do you think the Quilting is done?

Machine Stitching isnt the issue, it's the fact the bag is hand guided when finishing and used by hand instead of by programmed Robot (Like the quilting machine or the Dior Cannage on the Lady Dior). It's the same as how some clothes are machine stitched in Haute Couture....but it's not programming a machine to sew seams.

Are Chanel bags mainly Made in France, or fifty fifty Italy/France?
Out of curiosity.
The one in the picture is Made in France.

Call me crazy, old fashioned and whatever, but what’s the need for a creative director to post this on instagram?

I mean, it looks like something a brainless intern would do in his first day and even him wouldn’t even dare…

I seriously can’t with so much pretentiousness and so much will to be relevant in the public’s eyes…

He is on an ego trip. I refuse to believe a good CD can have public social media. To me it’s just non compatible. If you browse instagram for two seconds your brain cells start fading and you feel dirty, uninspired and your will to keep being alive fades away. Just to witness that ocean of mediocrity is really draining, imagine if you also participate.

All that for just a simple instagram post marking his first day at what is probably his dream job?

It's definitely an ego-trip. He wants to signify this is the new era under his leadership and also wants it to be known what we see this day onward is because of him. His greatness. It's also a way for others to cheer along with him. I thought one of the appeals of Blazy is he was a humble guy unlike many other diva designers. But I think he will be like the rest of them.

Having a public account, wanting to have followers and being present on social media posting pictures and silly sentences to me is the definition of mediocrity (even worse than mediocrity) and vulgarity.
So @Creative you don’t have instagram? You want to say you’re not attention grabber! Shocker!!!

Matthieu grabbed the biggest job in fashion with a reason. Let the man be happy!

Aren’t you all reading a bit too much about it?
It’s the most important job of his life. He was announced in December but only starting now.
Is it projection? Because if I’m excited about a good thing happening in my life, I would share with people who shares the same excitement. It just happens that his IG is public but maybe he should make it private then?

Come on…

If I’m getting an Art Direction or a consultant role at Chanel, you are all going to hate me ( and I’m going to expose my identity in the same matter lol).😂😂😂

He can be happy and act mediocre and cheap at the same time, as he did.
Mediocre or not he is CD of CHANEL, has equally talented partner, amazing house in Antwerp and we hide behide our comments on tfs.

Good for you Blazy, wish you all the luck, God bless you and you can be mediocre as much as you want. Mission accomplish as long you pissed @Creative and those like him.

Brava Blazy! Brava!

I don't think so. Having public social media is an statement. What you upload is usually more related with how you want people to perceive you and about creating a certain image about you... It's marketing. Like SDS posting basic artists. You can tell he has the depth of a tiny pond in the street. And also you can tell in his case it's him running it.

Having an account with 817 posts and 350K as a Creative Director in Fashion to me is all that is wrong these days.

I also hate when people relate their Instagram to their job (unless it's part of a commercial plan). It's the most basic thing a person can do. Social Media is for people with a boring office job who are day dreaming about a life they will never have and for non-talented people that are beautiful enough to make a living out of it, not for someone at the helm of the most prestigious fashion house.

There were successful TFSer working for major fashion houses and who knows if @Creative will be next star designer helming Chanel in a couple of years.
