Matthieu Blazy - Designer, Creative Director of Chanel

Bruno's shade is off the charts

"I really admire anyone who can join a house and put out a full collection in a matter of days or weeks. We take a longer-term approach. The most important thing was giving Matthieu time to truly settle into the brand. That’s also what sets us apart, so I believe we made the right decision and chose the right pace."

"I’m not sure that, in 15 years’ time, there will be many creative directors with the longevity of someone like Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren or Karl Lagerfeld. They are truly exceptional. Will this new generation of designers have the same staying power? One can only hope so, but inevitably, the questions of succession and creative renewal arise, and it just so happens that it’s happening everywhere all at once."

^given the amount of people, the celebrities etc and to start not too late, coming now is quite ´normal’.

Very expected shows like this one have security staff to be absolutely crazy.
Yeah I mean I’ve been in lot of shows by Dior and this doesn’t even compare. It really feels like something else. It gives you a very grandiose feeling. Like if something very important was about to happen, I don’t know how to explain.

IDK I feel kind of bad for MB. I feel like the stakes are SO UNBELIEVABLY HIGH that no matter what is shown it just will not live up to expectation. Hoping he references spring 2000 and 2003 specifically, which for right now feel so modern for some reason.
