Matthieu Blazy - Designer, Creative Director of Chanel

Usual Prigent video with all buzz and hype and no substance. Lots of words to say basically nothing. No one cares about Kendall saying "it's beautiful" (WOW such a deep and original statement) or Ayo Edibiri loving the finale walk because "you could see the girls walking through the venue of the Grand Palais".
Yawn.

Typical models´ answers, when asked about the collection:

-"I think is beautiful".
-"I think is sexy".
-"I think is beautiful; but in a sexy way".
-"I think is sexy; but in a beautiful way".

its known coco would take bed sheets and tablecloths to cut up and make a dress etc out of them but this is to literal interpretation
the dress is giving unmistakably flintstones chanel vibes.

all these prolapse crumbled flowers he is doing needs to stop.

Oof that tweed jacket is really not working. I want to like his Chanel more than I do, but so much of it feels off.

no thoughts on the clothes ? :-)
I like his silk set. I don’t like her jacket but I love the cut of the pants.
It’s really not indicative of anything though.
I’m more curious to see what he will tap on for this Métiers d’Arts.
Karl leaned a lot on the 30’s for his previous NYC Metiers d’Arts collection. The 30’s and 60’s for the 2006 collection, the 30’s and 80’s for the 2019 collection.

I’m more concerned by this man showing up again though. 2 years ago he was a Gucci guy. Last year, he was BV (ok by Blazy), 4 months ago it was Dior…

hehe you always say the previews are not indicative :-)

The collection will be about nyc again another love story lol ......from the nyc city map print that came with the first communication his PJ city line her in american and french flag color showing unity and the support that usa give to chanel when she came back story i predict seeing this:-)
The clash of the looks i find more concerning not modern nor elegant or cool.

that PJ if it was by KL or VV we would crucify it !!!!its objectively ugly the print looks like bad airbrush graffiti from the 80´s

but honestly i don't care where asap rocky shows up if he is asked by these companies as the token artist of color i say go get that coin.
Nicole just left Balenciaga and came back to Chanel as well.

The authenticity lies at the brand and creative director... also the new generation shoppers don't care about the millennial loyalty style approach they care about if someone is authentically themselves and if it connects to a community with a mind set not brand affiliation.

He is selected because he is easy to dress and from nyc harlem & willing to try new fashion and there are just only so many fashion friendly stars around to use.
Was Margaret also not a Celine girl dressed by hedi and did ig ad for bags placements etc ?

as ugly as balenciaga ironic version

Because they aren’t.
I have been fooled by promising or terrible previews before. So I have come to terms that they aren’t indicative of anything.

I have seen more visually challenging things by Karl and Virginie and even Matthieu than those PJ’s.

I don’t have an issue per say with Celebrities and brands. I don’t care for Celebrities unless when they are really friends with the designer.

I have an issue with people going where the wind blows. I have an issue with contract-chasing is too obvious. When you have been the face of a Kering, LVMH to then go to Chanel…come on.
He is cute and he can dress but that’s not the issue.

I don’t think it elevates the celebrities/brands relationship.
