Matthieu Blazy - Designer, Creative Director of Chanel

Does anyone know how much they're charging for that quilted mini bag with pompom from the holiday collection?
Cause seriously, I can totally get 6k for a 19, 22 and a 25...but anything above 4k for that makeup free samples bag would be diabolical.
The timeless classic mini flap is currently priced at 4,8k...
The bag is about 4.5k EUR and the pompom is about 900 EUR
(Yes they are sold separately)

You add 300 EUR more and you get a timeless classic that is an iconic piece and holds value in the preloved market.
Buy that free sample bag for 4,5k and next day you'll need to lower the price to 1k if you want to resell it LOL

We know holiday collections are rock bottom when it comes to creativity, quality and craftsmanship, but gosh these are just vile.
Even monogram LV wallets with winter Vivienne prints are better than this.
The fine jewelry collection is so cheap looking.
The vanity cases are going to be a smash hit though, the rest is very forgettable and it's giving corporate merchandise agreed without MB stamp of approval.

no excuse for the messiah of modernity :) he is now in charge of all collections this has his hand all over it even if it's just selection colors for classics stuff like the vanity..he is random and this drop is random .....also first time they have a xmas capsule.

vanity cases are like the pre blazy Chanel so yes people will get what they can that is still old Chanel lets say, before the brand is fully Chantal (Blazy´s alterer ego at Chanel :)

I agree that there's been lots of average-ness and un-wowed-ness at Chanel after the show, but they still have a card up their sleeves: the irrational fascination that Chanel exerces on women.
It is almost like soccer for men.

I know several women that, given the choice between Chanel and a similar bag let's say by Vuitton, they would go without hesitation for Chanel, although LV might be half the price.

I think the secret lies in Chanel not doing menswear.
That is why I find all these flirts with Kendrick, A$ap... dangerous on the long run.
They will increase short-term revenue but they will also lose their superpower.

I don't know what's going on with these holiday capsules / collections this year.
CHANEL has already dedicated campaign / packaging for beauty division (same product with tacky made in China glittery packaging LOL) and they never did that for fashion. It somehow really cheapens the brand and lower the perception of ultra luxe. At least at LV they play with the mascots and snow prints, they never made Christmas tree with LV logos!
LV launched beauty two months ago and holiday bundles would have perfect to push the line and they did not do that.
Versace used to have holiday campaigns under Capri and skipped this year...same for Gucci under Demna.
It's a mess honestly.
Dior is the best at making holiday campaigns for both beauty and fashion divisions: elevated but relatable at the same time.
I'm sorry but there is no excuse for CHANEL to release gold leather vanity cases when they have already tons of basic merchandise from the precollections and Coco Niege.

according to fashion research companies small trinkets help very well with sales and capturing new clients and younger once that a dipping their toes in smaller items ..so i am sure its based on market demand/research, but if it's the right product time will tell.

That catalog gives Instagram counterfeit account vibes...cheapening what already look cheap.

love this comment and will be waiting for 2026/2027 when some real figures are becoming clear of new designs not classic stuff i don't want to hear because of Blazy they sold more classic standard stuff lol.

Mathieu Blazy should stop clowning around and design something we would actually like AND buy. Until those enthusiasts part with their own money and get MB’s groundbreaking and fresh Chanel pieces, I am not taking them seriously. Also those clown, tree and present earrings look like stuff sold on Taobao.

Louis Vuitton’s products are only sold at Vuitton. You may remember that Chanel has always had a very different approach when it comes to distribution of their beauty and sunglasses. This is not a new strategy, it has always worked for them so you can’t compare it.
