^LOL!

Anyway it's Coco y'all! Let's not write her off like the bitter queens we are ourselves. She has a point, angry or not. B)

She Has A Valid Point. Mdc Is The Most Respected Ranking But Their Ranking Comes With Lot Of Flaws.

I like to believe Coco was taken off the list because her career reached the point where she transcended the list. Much like many other girls out there...she's more like a "working icon". Girls like Stam and Lily D will probably suffer the same fate soon.

mmm someones sounds really bitter. never was a fan of hers anyway :innocent:.

however, reading this and feeling her bitterness, it never even crossed my mind that models would even look at their rankings -reading her response towards the site- made me think more about the site and actually how awful it might make models feel and discouraged even if they are 50 and making more money than #30. of course models.com is going to put joan small or arizona muse on their list (examples only) because its hype and if they left coco there then they would get no visits on their site because its the same coco since 07. if i were a designer and needed models for a show or ed or whatever it is- do you really think i would go to models.com or would it be my personal preference? yes my personal preference. and it would be yours too.
as for coco, she can make their own models site with lots of research just not sure how you would introduce yourself to people and say "hi i rank models for a living".

ditto that. i'm surprised that hasn't happened to stam and lily yet. i love coco, but that was a little odd to express criticism from a website with a ranking system that the majority of us models-obsessed fans find a tad wacky.

don't be bitter, my love! you're a married gal! :flower:

on a different note, miranda kerr's gotta be bumped off that list. she was high fashion for like what, 2 seasons. bump her off and put coco on #50

Bitter much ?
never really liked Coco Rocha in the first place

^No, I don't think she is bitter- frustrated is more like it.
If you look at her thread, well she is always busy, does so much. There are girls on that list that (IMO) don't even come close to what Coco does. I would be frustrated also.....................
And kudos for her for saying what is on her mind.

but bragging your achievements and then venting out your frustrations
looks too desperate and makes you look like bitter, imo
this sounds like a model behaviour to me

and Coco isn't much in demand these days, other than getting covers from Elle
she hasn't done much campaign work or on the runways
but kudos to her for still working, but still not enough

^yep but that does not explain why one day be positioned at number 6 and the next day disappear from the list:doh:. very weird and annoying:judge:

hmm, i agree with coco that it isn't the most accurate list but i also agree with others that she did come off bitter. is she implying that she deserves to be in the top 10 with models like lara, freja, sasha, natasha, etc? these girls work hard, they do the runway every season and editorials in all major vogues and score campaigns. coco does none of that. good for her that she can get these model of the year awards, but i think she has to realise what exactly the mdc list is based off. it's not doing awards shows and elle covers and whatever else coco has been doing lately...

i think that coco was just pointing out that the industry can be hard and silly at the same time... she is coco, everyone knows that, if she did all that work in the 90s, she'd be a supermodel, and wouldn't care about lists. nowdays, there's a new IT girl every month, and you can never take a break, even if you deserved it. so i understand coco's point, she may be bitter and angry, but she has all the right. that list is the most important list in the business and i will never understand it myself.

I dont see her coming across as bitter , she is just stating that the list is inaccurate and that people value it too much .If my achievements were being ranked in a list that has serious flaws and lacks any objectivity and people judge/book you based on that list , i would be pissed. She is not my favourite model , but i respect her for her healthy approach to modeling.

^I agree. Whether she thinks much of the list personally or not is not really the point. It's more about the fact that the industry and the press takes the list too seriosuly and a model's career probably depends on being ranked well in it to a certain extent. I think she's trying to say that in spite of not being ranked in the list she's still doing well and she's probably just very proud she gets recognition elsewhere. I'd feel the same way if I was her.

Hmmm, I am all over the place on this matter. I think that she is right that there are things that MDC does that seem arbitrary it is weird that she went from being six to being dropped, but I dunno about actually expressing her displeasure about it out loud... but then again I have to say that it is great when an insider speaks up on these matters.

I think that if this matters so much to Coco then she made a mistake when she downscaled her modeling career, and make no mistake about it, Coco was headed towards demi-supermodel / icon (of the MDC variety) status and she chose to focus on other matters, which I don't blame her because the things that she was doing like being an entertainment commentator enhances her brand as a model and also may contribute to long-term security and personal growth but it looks like to me that she benignly neglected her modeling career.

agree. i actually found her post to be very celebratory due to her being recognized, and didn't really see anything bitter about the MDC comment, though she did sound rather pensive about it. but it seems like some members here have a penchant for blowing things out of proportion, especially from model blogs  i find it despicable how people are reading soooo much into everything.

well i'm happy for Coco as long as she is. getting booted out of the list doesn't really seem that bad when you still have a lot of more viable options for a career in fashion. she might not be that active anymore in modeling per se but we all know she's already reached her peak and i've always found her as trying to be the bigger person in her field; why be content in taking the backseat when you know you can do so much more to improve your industry.

reading her blog came across as a little bitter but also such an eye opener- for me at least on what a joke this site really is and how discouarging it might feel to models who looks at their "rank" but then again I cannot envision clients going on this site to use models for eds, ads, or shows (however, i can totally see them using TFS as a legit resource not a ranking website) - a preference is a preference and we all have our preference. obviosuly this thread is pure evidence on how the rankings are a bit off (ex: someone shoots calvin klein they are automatically at or above #7 but have no other campaigns and they stay there for awhile) and to rate money makers? does mdc really know their bank account. hahah coco made me feel bitter.
