Men in tights?! and leggings, etc...

^ you should show pics !

I think they look well done when they are a thicker knit material, worn kinda sloppy and provide more of a layered look rather than skin tight. I dont think anything should be ruled out totally in fashion.

^just check in what are you wearing....
alejandro often posts overthere... and is always amazing....!!!!
anyway, i wear some of these but to go to ski only....to be warm on the snow...
i could try them with a bermuda... in winter... i'm planning on buying new richelieu with a grey dégradé and mine are grey and another one blue... so... but i doubt i could look fine with them...

i wear them, so what?

YOU, my dear, are an unfair example, cause you can pull off basically EVERYTHING!

On what occasion would tights like these be worn?

tights-for-men

I had to LAWL so hard at that pic. The guy looks so manly and masculine and then he strikes such a womanly pose with the legs

Tights for men are gaining popularity AGAIN. Yes A-G-A-I-N. In the 80s there were sports tights for men. Brands like Dolphin, Nike, and a few more. There were some sold in packages too. The Dolphin and Nike were early brands for men as they were sold in retailers and used for running and exercising. I recall selling them as late as 1995. Footed tights were still in at that time for women along with leotards and could be bought in JCPenny. In 1993 there were Gilda Marks for women. Tights were also sold in plenty of sports athletic stores like Sports Authority, SportsMart, and Big 5. I wasnt aware of the men's line in packages until a few years ago. Now there are quite a few. there are also long underwear brands like 2xst, BOSS, and Polo, among others. Leggings were worn by men as early as 1990 that i could recall and have continued to be around. Sports Tights are outthere for men. I own several brands and also have some basic tights. Tights-for-men, EG SMith, activskin are a few brands. There are stores on line. Check it out.

The brand above " Activskin" makes tights with a fly, footless, and footed styles. Decent quality. Also have sheers like the photo above. The ones in camoflauge are by Spandexwear.com if I am not mistaken. I ordered them online. There is another site that you could order too. Plenty of prints. THese are nylon but are stylish. See my pix above.

I think it can work.

Yes, this is where it works. I like when it is bunched up at the ankle to give that slouched effect. That is how I like to wear my skinny jeans also. Would I wear the tight, no. I think skinny jeans are enough for me, plus I do not know how they look on the Dior Homme-esque, chicken leg. I think they look better on the model's leg, because they are bigger and more muscular.

Activskin. I just know why they are more expensive now. I paid a lot less. Also, you could buy the same thing in G-stage (smaller store for women) or target or walmart for $8-20 max. Actually they still are the same price. Just go to the correct site to get the US direct site.

Tights for men for biking and at the local gym to use

Just wanted to share that at one LA local gym chain has had a few clients wearing cylce tights. Also in LA guys are wearing them with Khaki shorts and sneekers to wear to work while biking. I noticed also traffic guards and city workers wearing them too to work. I noticed since they had the safety orange vest.

See they are getting really popular. Even in Europe and Colder parts of the world.

Uggs are also for men now. Look on the site!

Headlines last year!!!! Leggings are in for men this year. Go to Walmart. Performance apparel in the men's department.

today’s headlines: “Will men start wearing leggings?”
January 22, 2007 at 4:34 am · Filed under Pop Culture

For the love of god, please do not let this trend take off! I mean, man, that is just… UGLY.
(and seriously, that’s one of today’s headlines on the Yahoo! homepage)
On a different front, one of the BBC predictions for 2007 is the upcoming death of denim:
“Jeans, in their seemingly endless incarnations - bootcut, hipster, wide-legged, high-waisted - have been THE High Street fashion success story of recent years. But that’s about to end, says Hadley Freeman, fashion writer on the Guardian. A combination of customer fatigue, overexposure and, frankly, a lack of any new denim styles left, means jeans, while still a wardrobe basic, won’t generate anywhere near the excitement that they have for the past half decade,” says Freeman. At the end of 2006 you could already see customers and retailers experimenting with alternatives, from leggings to shorts over cashmere tights.”
NO! Not jeans! COME ON.

MILWAUKEE - It takes a pretty big man to wear tights in public.
Kobe Bryant, Vince Carter and LeBron James big enough for you?
Spandex is spreading throughout the NBA, as several players have taken to wearing full-length tights underneath their shorts during games this season.

nice seeing you post again, ecman2wst

you seem to really want to push this

certainly more expected / usual in activewear
for myself, i'm interested in the functional ones,
used to release moisture, hold in heat, etc.

has anyone tried those?
i'm really curious if they work
if they keep you warm very well
it's very cold where i live

I havent tried the Drain up but I own the 70 denier. Their direct site is cheaper. Other sites are more expensive. I also own the sports branded ones: Nike, Reebok, Avia, and New Balance. The weight, fabric, and fit are different. Some are tight, some are near tight. The tights you are questioning are Activskin. You could to Activskin.com to get better price. However there is a site : http://tights-for.men.com/catalog to look at what is currently out there in the market. EGSMITH, Lida, and there are a few others. Another site has some thicker styles in footed and footless: http://www.pantyhose-stockings-hosiery.com A blog on line I just found : http://tightsplus.blogspot.com/. Another site for men is: http://www.mytights.com/mytights/advice/adviceformen.html - advice for guys. There is product out there. It is hard to find in stores but sports tights / leggings are out there for men.
