The most awaited event of the Florentine kermis dedicated to men's fashion? The debut of the menswear Jil Sander collection spring/summer 2011. After 9.15pm you'll be able to enjoy on web the creations of Raf Simons, wherever you are. Simons, creative director and guest star of the seventy-eighth edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo, has organized a fashion show that will be a performance where art music and fashion will get entwined. Not just a fashion show, but a true event. Not just a location, but a historic palace lit by antique chandeliers. This is how Haider Ackermann decided to debut at Pitti. The designer, guest of Pitti w-precollection, has chosen Palazzo Corsini, on Lungarno, for the parade-performance on June 16th.

Clothes are still top secret, but what is certain is that the designer will present both men's and women's collections for next spring-summer. The clothes were inspired by the atmospheres of Visconti and Zeffirelli's version of la Traviata.

The event will be preceded by the presentation of the book-diary of the designer and the soundtrack of the event will be the sensual Jamie Bochert's voice, a French dancer, model and singer engaged to Michael Pitt, the new face of the American cinema.

MASS ATTRACTION: Calvin Klein on Saturday evening will air its spring 2010 men’s show on the mammoth LED screen in Milan’s Piazza Duomo. The half-hour-long presentation, which will take place for buyers and press earlier in the day, will be shown for the masses at 7:30 p.m., giving passersby a first-hand look at the new collection designed by men’s creative director Italo Zucchelli.

CROWD SURFING: Speaking of the Milan men’s shows, a sea of hands is expected in Milan on Friday as Matthew McConaughey is set to make a personal appearance at La Rinascente department store accompanied by designers Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce. The Hollywood star and face of Dolce & Gabbana’s The One for Men fragrance will be at the luxury department store to sign autographs and pose for pictures with the designers in the ground-floor beauty department. McConaughey also plans to attend the designer duo’s men’s show on Saturday to help celebrate their 20th anniversary of men’s wear.

FASHIONABLE DRINK: Dolce & Gabbana and Martini are strengthening their cobranding relationship with a new drink that will be launched during the men’s shows in June. Initiatives that have crowned the long-standing partnership between the two renowned Italian brands include a Martini Bar inside the Dolce & Gabbana flagships in Milan and Shanghai, and a Martini-inspired Dolce & Gabbana suit and shirt.
