The spring/summer collections for 2008 have started on the Mens side..
Please post any catwalktrends you're noticing :D

we have two threads already made by Mr-Dale and fashion_boi_01 :

*Mens Sandals
*Floral prints

aquatic theme (Alexander McQueen, Burberry Prorsum, Missoni...maybe more I forget)

^^ I thought global warming meant the world will heat up? Why more winter clothes then?

Im really stupid so you might have to explain something really simple to me

^it was maybe an ignorant statement from me  i dn't know global warming very well myself
i thought it just means 'climate change' ... like some places that are normally cold will get very hot and vice versa, this kind of 'extreme weather condition' changes

hope that makes sense

anyway where i live, i could wear all this wintery spring stuff and be comfortable :ninja: but some days it gets unbearably hot  and then goes back to cold/cool the nxt day

-dropped crotches in the pants
-neck scarf
-armor

it's terrible that we are getting this experimental trends... you just cant feel safe going to the streets wondering if you are trying too hard (i'll probably be) and hoping noone you know sees you!

I think men.style editors are reading our comments about menswear... or we're all fashion journalists en herbe...
anyway here is their top10

Hammer Pants
For some designers, the look's just too legit to quit

Dior Homme

Neon Designs
Just a glimpse of intense color

Alessandro Dell'Acqua

Sheer Modesty
The classy way to do see-through

Jil Sander Hockney Effect
For spring 2008, no artist made a bigger splash

Paul Smith

All zipped up
The biker jacket goes upscale

Salvatore Ferragamo

The shawl thing
A classic formalwear flourish does daytime duty

Dries Van Noten

Flood alert
Runways were awash in a sea of cropped pants

Junya Watanabe

Synth Rock
From nylon to neoprene, non-natural fabrics were everywhere

Burberry

Light and Layered
The colors: muted. The fabrics: weightless. The result: effortless

J.Lindberg

A perfect look for the latter-day Hef

I like the cropped thing... and try last week for a drink out... it's very cool...
of course forget it with sneakers... but it works with socks, too... I try it without on the streets but at home I thought it looked ok... I'll try later... because I still don't feel confident with the socks in moccassins/derbies when wearing croppend pants...

Cropped pants... with this trend we also see the return of beautiful and colourful socks... one acces. very often forgotten... but a very elegant acces. anyways... so wear a pair of it or not...just do it how you feel....
my favourite collection of this trend is Junya Watanabe... (and I'm even thinking this is one of the best collection in Paris...eventhough I'm def. into the "crumpled" fabrics...)

Junya Watanabe options (with/without socks... jeans/chinos...)

this fourth look is very good!!!
and who is this last guy??? his face is very common to me...

Dries Van Noten

YSL

Pilati himself

Alexander McQueen

this last one is soo sexy... I just wish boys would be courageous enough to go in a pool/ocean/sea with a 1500€ look...

I was going to start a sandal thread hehe.

It's not geeky , perhaps awkward..and nerdy and it's not just the sandals it's the glasses and the new pant lengths hmmm...

What do they mean by hockney effect? David Hockney...?
It would be weird if they're just referring to the colours in his paintings :ermm: It's kind of vague ..

^I think yeah they are referring to David Hockney...
and I think they are only doing this to make their reviews seem more intelligent... ahahah... let be nicer, I think they are only referring to "A bigger Splash" and any of his works related to a pool or a californian state of mind...and to the vibrant colours...
