Many designers, Alexander Wang among them, have recently taken to the scandalous trend of mesh bodywear. Some brands have also aided in the popularization of this.

Heh thefashionpolice.net calls them shresses. It's a love and hate thing for me. It looks so good on the runway but in real life just looks tacky most of the time.

I nearly bought a mesh leotard like the AA one from topshop. But I chickened out!

Pah that easy for men to say! They don't have boobies. Lol.

i've got the AA mesh bra...not that uncomfortable (but if those leotards are unlined it probably isn't comfortable around the crotch, ha) .

there was a mens striped sweater a few seasons ago where the black stripes were mesh/sheer. anyone remember who they were by?

i wish i could be more open to mesh but whenever i think of someone wearing mesh i flash back to an old dance teacher... in a bad way. as fab as he was, he wore way too much neon colored cut-off mesh tops. i don't think i'll ever get over it.

its a tricky trend, i mean the a wang dresses are fab but i cant think of many people that can pull that off on the street. and the colored tank tops look great but i doubt that everybody gets to wear them "the right way" if there is any. its not a trend for the masses...i hope

I just got the american apparel mesh bodysuit I love it! looks great under dresses and heavier tanks.

Not everyone seem to be able to carry off this look. But it's definitely a hot one C:

i don't really want to be seeing mesh with nothing underneath like the AA models.. so hopefully if or when it does become a street trend, people will remember to have underwear on.

but i think when done well, it looks great

Mesh is definitely hard to do, but I love it!

I bought the Wang dress and while yes it's sl*tty in bright daylight (when all of you is out there for the world to see) it looks very chic at night.
I also got the AA mesh bodysuit...tbh I think the nude color mesh is more conservative than the black mesh.

For example...

I think it's great for summer when I love to wear crochet things and shirts with big gaping holes, which are too sl*tty to wear without something underneath.

The American Apparel ones are ticky-tacky-tackalicious. But the Alexander Wang ones are fabulous.
