New Michael Jackson Album 'Xscape' to Come Out in May

New record features eight new "contemporized" songs and deluxe edition with the original recordings
Quote & Photo: Rollingstone

^^ Great cover; his eyes are so strong and magnetic.. Wow.. new music.. I wonder if Michael had finished it and wanted it released?
Also can't get over the fact that 'Xscape' is still pronounced 'Ex-scape' Not 'escape' and it's annoying :( I wonder who chose the name?

I'm so excited about the new material, I just hope production-wise it'll be on the same or similar level of quality. Timbaland did a pretty good job in that snippet of Slave to the Rhythm for the Xperia Z2 commercial from Sony. I like it even better than the original coz it has this fierce modern vibe to it, with the beat and all. So if this is close to the sound they are going for, I'm happy as a little kid, as long as they don't touch MJ's vocals.

love the pic from the cover but this is what the cover should look like, with this background even cooler i.m.o. coz MJ is infinite and immortal like the Universe itself.

I must say I prefer this version of STTR, even though it's a remix as well, I think. If only they updated this version for Xscape. I would have loved it more!

i love randomly hearing MJ's music at the most unexpected times.
i was watching a vlog by SoothingSista on youtube and was like hey i know this song! it's one of my faves

it's a sample/mix of The Jackson's "Push Me Away" (1978 Destiny)
by J1K called "Cryin' Eyes"
starting @2:27 to end

Lyrics featured:
Live and sigh, crying eyes
Your touch, your heart, your warmth, lullaby
Live to dream, don't it seem
The tears, the pain, reality

Sorry, kissablekae, Just saw your post ! The way it's spelled you would pronounce it 'ex-scape' because X written is said like 'eks' not 'es'. I'm just being pedantic , sorry ! I still don't know how I feel about the release of this album... there is a reason Michael kept these songs unreleased... and he was such a perfectionist and very in control of his releases and image. I understand we crave more from him and miss him deeply... but he didn't want these released and whenever I hear them I can't help but have that thought in the back of my head.....

I understand both sides, people saying Mike was a perfectionist and how he wouldn't want these out without his permission but again, I do think he'd approve it all and be happy about it, for the simple fact that these songs made a lot of people very happy, and then who knows, maybe his fan base got a lot bigger (maybe some people will learn better now, about all the lies that have been told about him), I think so. I'm very pleased with the album, I just wish there were more songs, like 15 or 16, or even 20 :D I can never get enough of MJ, and I do think these people did a great job, there are videos of them talking about the process of making this album and you can totally see they put their hearts and souls into this.

lizzardqueen, i know what you mean? i automatically want to pronounce it like how it looks but being familiar with the song, i know it's not pronounced the way its spelled. i think "Escape" would've been cool too.

hmm, i'm not sure what Michael would've wanted. i def do see that perfectionist side to him too. i think either way, his music was being released unfinished for many years now. it's just one of those things that many artists can't really avoid these days with the internet and whatnot. i guess at least now that it's official, at least his estate makes money. even if he's not around anymore, at least it'll go to his kids as well as keeping his music flowing to a newer generations.

Flyest, i also like seeing more people and as well as younger folks being able to getting in to MJ's music. and i'd also like to think that MJ liked to see people enjoy his work. i kind of wish there were more songs that i wasn't already familiar with lol i've gotten so used to most of the originals that the remixes don't excite me much.
