I don't like the new haircut but I love the Thom Brown coat & dress on her. The checked pattern on that material and in that cut is just lovely.

The coat is very sleek, and the shoes look great--would never have guessed J Crew. The belt, gloves, and boots give a whole different look! Coat & dress def more tailored than she usually wears.

Not totally crazy about the bangs--they look good, but not sure they're her.

^I read somewhere that her shoes were custom designed for her by the label. Anyone know if this is true? A beautiful Michelle-gif-worthy moment... an eye-roll she gave John Boehner during a luncheon. God, don't you just love this lady? I'm eagerly awaiting the inaugural ball's to see what she wears, hopefully she wow's with another stunner.

Michelle looked so pretty at the military ball! I kinda love that she stuck with a favorite designer, it show's her innate sense of knowing what looks good and makes her feel good. Though on one hand I feel for the other less-established designers who were hoping she might wear their design, having the first lady wear your clothes can do wonders for sales and exposure. But really, Jason Wu must be thrilled right now, how many designers can say they've designed not one but two dresses for a first lady to wear at the inaugural ball?

Also, I so, so loved what Mr. President had to say about his wife, that he calls her his better half, hearing that just makes me turn into a puddle of goo. I know I'm someone who gushes a lot about this couple, but really they are special, loved them during the first dance, it was so cute.

I adore her Jason Woo gown. I will confess to never having been sold on the white gown she wore at the first Inauguration, but this.... stunning. It's so her too. I love the vibrancy and shimmer of the red too.
